Shipping through oCainiao

Bought some heavy items from Chinese websites and used Cainiao sea freight option. Everything is fine until the last mile of course.
Some idiot turns up in a truck with his Hi vis when I'm not there, bangs on the door and leaves no calling card nothing.

I get a message from Cainiao via SMS to confirm address. I've sent back, Who's the courier so I can contact them, they haven't answered me yet.

Every app I try for tracking doesn't work, it's a HZHxxxxxx number

Anyone had experience with things like this before?

      Who knows, who cares - you are deliberately vague …

      Point being, heavy item couriers are generally for businesses, so the assumption is the delivery address is also a business which has somebody at the delivery address during business hours … it is why you got asked to confirm address and no response to whom they used for contractors :/

    Being able to track your item or contact the company to find out how to get it re-delivered is considered 'premium service'? If true then that's exemplary enshitification.

      There are QOS based on what you pay.
      Cant expect 5 star services when you pay 2 star.
      Canio uses 3rd party delivery providers and if they don't offer end to end polished experience then that's what you've paid for.

  Cainiao drivers is similar to uber, they can take it on as a side job, hence the no reply, too difficult to get an answer.

  We’ve had a pallet delivered by them on a Couriers Please van on a Saturday. He said he works CP on weekdays and take on other courier jobs as needed on weekends.

      It has passed the AliExpress ETA delivery date of 7 April, and this is my first time with Cainiao as the shipping method

  Been waiting almost a month on an order through Aliexpress/Cainiao. All the other smaller items came weeks ago. I ordered more items from Ali that have already arrived.

  This is bad.

  Luckily it's a Choice item so easy customer service if needed. I can wait a bit longer.

  Yeah, Cainiao uses Hunter as their last-mile delivery.
