Freeze them to make banana bread. yum.
pro tip: peel them first before freezing
Oh yes, that's the most important thing!
Also, soak the peeled skins in a bowl of water, then use that water to nourish your plants.
Perfect to chop and freeze for later use in smoothies too
My local IGA clears riper ones in boxes all year round - e.g. 6.5kg for $4. We freeze as the kids love frozen bananas.
Currently $4.50/kg in Coles/WW Sydney. What a rip off!!!
$4.99/kg in WA
Geezus that's shocking.
If only people know the cost of transporting bananas from QLD's farm-GATE to WA?
$0.29/kg is BELOW-cost, but the marketing-gain to 'Blunder Rd Country Markets, Brisbane' is likely more than the cost.
Rare over-ripe loss leader vs regular just right supply.
You're comparing apples with bananas.
I wouldn't mind banana bread ready bananas.
Another REAL bargain! It's a shame that it is not close to me 😅
Apologies 🍌
$0.29 / kg? That's bananas.
All bananas are Cavendish unless otherwise stated.
Will I be up or downvoted for saying you can almost always get bananas for free at the free-for-children basket at Woolies? 🤔
What if I add the classic Simpsons line, "hey we're all somebody's children"?
Big bunch ripening outside my kitchen window🍌
Benefit of too much rain!
Off topic - may I ask, how are you guys up north now after the period of wild weather? Stay strong! 💪
“Blunder rd”
Any other Blunders happening or happened there?
It’s a pretty ordinary part of town, so probably.
(Before you come at me I live here too!)
Cavendish bananas: any reason why they taste best in late-Winter early-Spring. But taste worst in summer?
Sunshine Coasters should keep an eye on Mick's Fruit Market Mountain Creek - they had bananas for 9c/kg on April 1 + 2:
The skin colours don't look good. Look good on the picture.
It's what is in the inside that counts
Don't think last long by the colour. Freezing or drying is good option if buy buck. Nice deal anyway.
Over the weekend, Bananas were $1.99 per kg at Ryan’s Garden Market, Northcote Plaza.
X3 Mult. What a steal!
Damn and I thought skippyz at 99c was cheap!
