So which one will you use

      • +3

The main issue is their customer service (or lack thereof), not the network…

        • +2

After 12months with More, in my 4 interactions I have found the customer service to be excellent

          • +1

@Darkheartz: More and Telstra do not share the same customer service team.
            My comments was about Telstra.

            • @jv: This article is about More. But thanks for stating the obvious

              • +1

@Darkheartz: The comment in this branch of the article I was replying to is about Telstra though, not More… But thanks for ignoring the obvious

    • +2

Depends on the location I guess.. I just switched from Telstra to Optus via Konec about 2 months ago and I have been waiting to jump back to Telstra.. around where I am, Optus data stops working inside larger buildings and I have now wasted 30 minutes every week that I would generally use watching reels on Facebook while waiting for my child to finish their swimming class lol

      • +3

Careful sharing your actual experience, it will get you downvoted around here apparently 🤦‍♂️

Telstra has been A-OK via Boost for me for the past 5 years, I haven't needed to contact them once so… YMMV depending on location and service needs I guess

    • +4

Having an opinion is fine, but substantiating it with relevant information such as where you are located, what was bad, etc, will be more useful to help other users consider if your concerns are relevant to them.

  • -1

Nope, doesn't show up in my account.

    • Do you have Commbank Commbank Yellow?

        • Would you like to avail yourself of this offer if a code was provided?

        • You can have the the commbank yello tab in your app but that doesnt mean you are apart of it. Maybe you dont meet the requirements so it doesnt show any offers.

          • @8azinga:

but that doesnt mean you are apart of it.

It clearly says that offers are 'activated'… But none ever appear.

I have 3 accounts with them.

Maybe you dont meet the requirements

I probably spend around 100K per year on my CBA credit card. Do they require more ?

            • @jv: This offer doesnt show up under "activated" anyway. It's under "Specials" section which is under that and you dont appear to have any either.
Activated means offers you have had to activate to get.
Its not about how much you spend either. Might be some other reason why you arent getting the offers because everyone on commbank yello should be getting at least the more mobile and nbn offers. The discount just varies depending on level.

              • @8azinga:

Its not about how much you spend either.

So what is the purpose of 'Yello' then if not for loyalty ?

                • @jv: Spending big doesnt necessarily mean loyalty as it could be only a few big transactions so they use other things to judge eligibility. Maybe you should read what makes you eligible for commbank yello on their site.
If you meet the eligibility but arent getting offers, there may be some other reason why you arent getting offers so need to contact them.

                  • @8azinga:

Spending big doesnt necessarily mean loyalty

I've been a customer since the State Bank of Victoria collapsed due to the Labor government of the time…

How do you define loyal ??

                    • @jv: You can hold accounts and not use them often so that still doesnt mean anything.
Maybe you didnt opt in to get the offers when it first started but you should read the eligibility criteria.

                    • @jv: Have you opted out of the Yello program? If you have, you won’t get anything.

            • @jv: Do you have a transaction account with them as well?

              • @lolcoaster: I have an investment account, a business transaction account and a credit card account.

                • @jv: That explains it.

You need a consumer transaction account to qualify for Yello

                  • @lolcoaster: Credit card accounts are on the list as eligible.

Regardless, it is supposed to be a 'customer loyalty' program…

                    • +1

                      @jv: It literally says:

                      "Everyday (base eligibility criteria)

                      You’re eligible if you:

Have an eligible CommBank transaction account; and
Complete 5+ outbound transactions each month from your eligible CommBank transaction or eligible CommBank credit card."

                      And

"Which CommBank transaction accounts are eligible?
To access CommBank Yello, you need to have one or more of the below CommBank transaction accounts:

                      Smart Access
                      Everyday Offset
Pensioner Security (card access only, not passbook access)
                      Private Banking Account
Complete Access (no longer available for sale)"

                      • @lolcoaster: It literally says:

                        Eligible credit card accounts:

                        Awards
                        Low Fee
                        Low Rate
                        Essentials
                        CommBank Neo
StepPay (we treat this as a “credit card” account for CommBank Yello purposes)
                        Affinity

                        • @jv: If you bother to read, you need a eligible transaction account and to make at least 5 card transactions a month.

Those 5 transactions can either be using the debit card that comes with the transaction account or via an eligible credit card (the ones you've listed)

                          • @lolcoaster: I make a lot more than 5 card transaction per month. Probably closer to 5 per day.

                    • @jv: Are your accounts under Section 4.5 for eligibility exclusions?
The following account types are not counted as eligible transaction accounts or eligible credit card accounts:
                      *accounts in respect of which you have notified us that you hold the account as a trustee;
                      *business accounts;
                      *accounts opened in the name of a company or an association;
                      *accounts that have been stopped (no longer permitted to make transactions);
*any accounts not listed within clause 4.2.

There is also a different commbank yello for business which is current by invitation.

                      • @8azinga:

Are your accounts under Section 4.5 for eligibility exclusions?

No idea, I opened them decades ago.
I think it was around 1991 when they moved my accounts to CBA from State Bank of Victoria.

                        • @jv: You may want to see a doctor for memory problems.

                          • @8azinga: Why?

                            • @jv: I had no offers in my Yello. Contacted the bank. They told me there was no issue. Then miraculously I had offers.

                    • @jv: "Regardless, it is supposed to be a 'customer loyalty' program…"

Don't think that exist in Australia.

    • You need to trigger it by doing "30+ outgoing transactions" from a cba account in a month

Thanks for the heads up, OP. Mine is $20 off per month. Perfect timing!

    • :O Lukcy you

    • +1

because you have a cba home loan
      https://www.more.com.au/commbank-yello

      • +1

Thanks for this. Interesting you guys are on Yello PLUS having $15 off than $10, because of completion of 30 transactions outbound each month. I’ve not used my account enough apparently.

        • +2

not sure what they consider "outbound" i dont use my cba account much at all other than constantly transferring to my revolut transaction account throughout the month and I still triggered the $15 off

    • Just checked mine, i have $20 too and yes we have CBA loan…

  • How to use same code on multiple account I shared code now I can’t use the offer .! Contacted comm bank no help more told me code is link to the account number nothing else.!

    Any help would highly appreciated

    • Not sure.. I cant find any of the More reps active on OzBargain anymore. Have you tried going into the offer in Commbank yellow and click "copy code & claim".. keen to know what error message you get when you try that?

    • doesn't work between accounts. once its redeemed its redeemed.

although i am an existing nbn customer on the same account, they were able to manually apply the discount i used to purchase the mobile plans after redemption by raising a ticket in the more dashboard

  • +2

    I got $20 off

  • +1

Myself and the wife are on this with commbank

it used to be cheaper actually. $15 a month for 25GB (started about 4 months ago)

it's been absolutely ROCK solid regardless of where we are in Melbourne (specifically west melbourne, which is notorious for terrible service)

    • How's the support? Does anyone have any real work experience on More's support?

      • +2

I have both internet and mobile with More telecom via the yello promotions, it's been fine. All of my support interactions have been via webchat.

I recently interacted with support when I needed to change my IP address from "CGNAT" to "Static".
And again when I upgraded mobile, and needed a new e-sim.

Both support experiences were quick and effective.

I changed from Exetel, which I feel was much worse.

        • When you changed IP address from CGNAT to Static is it without any additional cost?

What is the IP of More CGNAT and Static? How can you tell?

          • @omgilia: Now that you ask, I now recall I was able to change from CGNAT to Dynamic without any extra cost.
            Static is $5/month.

This was suitable enough for my needs.

The only way I was able to tell was being unable to access my hosted resources with what I thought my Public IP address was.
I don't recall what the IP was at the time.

  • sweet deal, as I need esim. Thanks OP

  • My understanding is that Yello codes are unique to each customer and depend on a variety of factors. I was looking into this when looking at More NBN plans. Might depend on things like:

    • how often you use your linked commbank card; and
    • whether you have any other services like a mortgage with CBA.

Happy to be corrected - but this might explain why some people have an offer and why some peoples’ discounts are more than others’.

I could also be wrong, but iirc, a discount in one month could decrease in a future month if you do not meet that criteria (like 10x payments on your linked CBA card in that month?). Maybe this is unique to NBN discounts. See at this link.

  • Solid deal and valid until end of June by the looks, I'm slowly running out of Telstra points to buy belong sims so might have to switch to this.

  • +1

Keep in mind! They charge $10 for a replacement physical sim 🙃.

  • I only got $10 off per month, despite I have a home mortgage with them.

    • You mustnt make the other requirement of 30 transactions/month?

    • +1

      Same not worth it

  • I got $10 off

  • +1

So am I locked in for 12 months, or the discount just lasts for 12 months?

  • +2

It is $15 off if you have Everyday plus. The lower Everyday level only gets $10 discount. The higher honeowner level gets $20 discount.

  • DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO WITH MORE!!! THEYRE $%$%$$#. I switched on Friday for my NBN and didnt have internet for 36hrs, they told me it was an issue with NBN itself and not them. I contacted Aussie Broadband on Sunday arvo and they got me connected in 15min.. I tried to call MORE on Sunday because their portal didnt work and I needed to cancel my NBN request and customer service dont work on Sundays so I had to wait until this morning and 30min of back and forth to cancel my request. Absolute garbage.

    • +2

Hi there, I'm sorry you had a horrible experience. We're now on our 3rd year with More Telecom via CBA Yello offer and has been able to extend the promotion with the new code from CBA offer. It's a huge saving for our family.

      • Hello, may I ask how you managed to extend the CBA Yello offer with More? Did you contact CBA to issue you a new code or did you contact More to extend it after 12 months?

        • +2

The offer on CBA Yello has expiry date, if not mistaken, it's 1 year expiry from mid year to mid year. I just need to contact More and provide the new code at the end of my plan.

    • Haha I was out of internet for a week same thing happened to me I switched back to Leaptel got connected in one day the problem is MoreNBN provision team they are hopeless

  • I got $10 off per month. Not worth it at those Pay More Telecom plan prices.

  • -4

It makes it the best deal on a Telstra plan.

Nah, the Wollies grandfarthered plans are way better…

  • The only reason I will go to postpaid is if they offer esim plan for a smart watch, else I will stick with prepaid

    • This is the first prepaid provider (along with sister company Tangerine) which offer an esim plan / number share / companion sim for the Apple watch or other smart watch.

This (esim support) is the main reason I switched, was using postpaid before which costs much more.

Having said that Optus postpaid did offer me a 50% discount if you leave (I've used it every year by speaking to the Optus disconnections chat before leaving)

That said, I find Telstra wholesale works better for me - in the lift and office bathroom haha. Whereas Optus works better at Taronga Zoo.

      • Just noticed it, shame my prepaid is still valid for next 6 months 😢

  • Is it eligibility from date of sign up or if I lose Commbank yello status either through not meeting the transactions or cancelling my card, will I get charged differently?

    • They mentioned it but didn't enforce it so far. I had this since last year, and in between losing a couple of months of my homeowner status, but still same discount

  • Is this new customer only or can apply if we already with similar More plan from last year?

  • I’ve been on the same Optus plan for the last 15 years and next month my ‘deal’ is finally ending (called them and bargained a discount price for my plan 3 years ago).

So my plans is to move onto this plan, I’ve never really changed plans but is it more ideal if I wait for my 16 days to end before starting this plan?

  • +1

    Telstra wholesale network

    • +3

Worth noting! Connectivity won't be 100% the same as on full Telstra/Boost.

  • More doesn't support Wifi Calling from overseas, better wait for Boost deal with cashback.

  • stay away, the network is worst. I use the 4G - porting it. the NBN also has lot of issues, tired it twice and I get $20 off - not worth it.

  • Thanks, got the 4G plan before the April price rise, only $9 a month!

    • U locked the discount, not the plan cost. Mine just increase $2 compared to previous month

      • Ah OK lol

  • How does more compare with boost?
    Same coverage?

  • My more rewards seem to have disappeared from my yellow just as I finally went to actually sign up. (and yes I qualify, have home loan and other accounts with them)

  • Great find thanks OP. Looks like for mine they are offering $20 a month off for the first 12 months. Not a bad deal at all.

    • There’s 3 Yello terms. The highest (Homeowner) has the $20 off code.

  • My boost is up in mid June so this will be good then as offer expires june 30

  • Regret to say very poor network coverage even under Telstra, also being deprioritized for network access than Telstra users and data consumption is obviously faster than else providers from what I noticed.

    • Also have fun cancelling the service after 12 months because they transfer you to different departments and disconnect the call down the line. Then wait another hour to talk to someone again

  • This or the Moose deal?
