I chased eBay who say its expired and I don't get a voucher. Won't honour the deal, wont refund me as the deal is out of date (apparently).
Where to from here?

I've heard Japan is nice, been meaning to travel there myself.

    • Especially this time of the year.

    • Cherry blossom season FTW!
Good luck getting cheap hotels now.

Muzeeb just advised me that he wants no involvement. Ozbargain has already cost him a job and subsequently his wife and family.

    Give Fair Trading a call

  • Invest in Amazon GC

    • What about the guy here who lost hundreds of dollars after their account got closed.

      • Gotta pay half cash half GC to reap the rewards.

eBay who say its expired; the deal is out of date

Because you do have poor literacy and numeracy skills.

eBay has always been dodgy. My experience with them shows that they are not willing to take responsibility for anything and it's always your fault. I stopped using the platform now in favour of Amazon and AliExpress.

100%. I had something fail in like 7-8 months and by that point seller had already disappeared. Contacted eBay and their response was it was out of their hands and I should keep contacting the seller and that they are sure the seller will respond despite multiple efforts to do so already and it was clear the seller was gone (no action, nothing listed on their store for sale) and then it was repeated attempts by eBay trying to contact the seller on my behalf and saying that I should also write more messages to the seller. After wasting over two weeks of back and forth it was obvious nothing was going to come out of it so I copped it on the chin and moved on. Joke of it was a week later I get an email from eBay saying no doubt everything was resolved and don't hesitate to reach out to them for further assistance.

I've had better customer support from Temu.

Several points work against you on this one - primarily being the link you provided makes it ineligible as you did not navigate to the promotion via www.ebay.com.au (Also if they're not advertising it on there at present its also not valid as per condition 1). Secondly condition 3 also works against you if you've navigated via an alternate method to the banner link or email offer, you are therefore not an 'Eligible User'.

1 The Offer will only be available for the period that it is advertised on www.ebay.com.au (‘Promotion Period’).

    1. If you are an Eligible User and take up the Offer, you may sign up to the Offer by:
clicking on the promotional banner on ebay.com.au or a link found in the offer email; and
signing up for an eBay Plus annual membership through the sign-up flow available here: https://www.ebay.com.au/ebayplus/subscription/signup?promo=P…
  • The e (bay) is for effluent.

Did they cancel and refund? I opted to cancel ebay plus when they failed to honour the conditions re refunding for a dodgy product.
The best they would do is let the ebay plus expire at the end of 12 months when they call on me to cancel or actively no renew.AFAIK, there's no such thing as a pro rata refund at any time during the contract. No matter what happens to you as a a member.
ebay plus is just a scam on a scam, by scammers.

  • At least they didn't sign you up without you clicking sign up, never send anything about being signed up, then try and charge a fee, and because you refuse to pay it because you never signed up, send you to debt collectors who harass you multiple times a day and emails.
And when you try and get it sorted and ask for the original alleged sign up email to be re-sent, they refuse to provide evidence and refuse to call back.
Been better off now. Ebay is shit
