Great game. Played on PS5. IMO you need a controller since the platforming is challenging.

Yeah those challenges are too complex even for a controller. That was just pure torture.
The game is other wise brilliant

I don't understand why phone games have to be cheaper.

Don't get me wrong, I want everything cheaper in every way, but in this instance, it makes it hard to justify spending "full" console prices on a game if there's a phone version for significantly less, like, my RG556 is basically a Switch Lite in form factor, and can play all these games great…so why would I pay 70 odd for Prince of Persia, when I could get the phone version for ~a quarter or so?

Phone games are unable to increase price because people won't accept it,
Maybe if we don't all pay 120 odd for Switch 2 games, they won't keep going up too.

That's what I've been saying all along. People need to speak with their wallet.

I agree. They almost need a seperate App Store for proper games.

It’s crazy I have a phone in my pocket more powerful than most handheld gaming devices yet all the games are shovelware or filled with iap. Let me pay $40 for a full game I can play on the go.

I guess this is where epic are going in the EU on apple.

You should play a game called hoplite on app store made by an Australian

      • There’s been more AAA ports of late on iPhone, but they also highlight the limitations of the hardware pretty quickly. Resident Evil, Assassin Creed, Death Stranding etc have all made the jump but have had their own tradeoffs.

They’ll get there eventually after a few more chip updates, but right now most of those games have issues with heating or are downscaled crazily to get performance in line. Part of the issue is that while the mobile devices do have terrific chips, even a large phone is much smaller than most equivalent dedicated gaming devices which gives you less space to work with thermally, and almost always the dedicated gaming device will have active cooling. Game like Resident Evil very quickly trigger throttling due to heat. Dedicated devices also benefit from AMD and Nvidia’s GPU’s.

        • Loved Resident Evil on my ipad. Great to play with an external controller

I agree on this. Most games on mobile are crap with pages and pages of ads. I am on android so I can blame bloody Google for shoving their trite ads on us.

    • I agree but will probably wait till the price drops on console. Maybe if it had Apple TV i'd bite but looked into the iPad iPhone version and it looks to be a much smaller file size (5gb vs 30gb), lower quality etc. this prob isnt the best review but as far i was going to look into it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKf2xG0PPB4
Good deal though if you're happy with just iOS. Still much better then the Prince of Persia quality i played as a kid 35yrs ago!

It costs alot to put something on their respective stores unlike mobile appstores (talking about consoles). Pc market on the other hand is different. But if a game is locked into a particular publisher only store then they rip you off (cod for example).

    • I wonder if there's a way to extract the license from the mobile game and use it to claim a Steam copy or something.
That would be a hilarious exploit haha.

Would have been an easier decision to purchase if it was compatible with Apple TV.

Came here to say exactly this. Dead Cells and Wreckfest work flawlessly on Apple TV, so why wouldn’t they release a version for this?
Instant buy if they had it. :(

This was really good but I had to pay for the dlc outfit the main character was styled so appallingly

  • Is the switch version worth it? JB-Hifi has it on sale for 24 dollars, so tempted.

    • Yeah it’s a good port. The styalised graphics work well here so despite some fidelity down scaling compared to other systems, it still looks good. It’s also a pretty solid 60fps throughout which while a step down from 120fps on home console, is more than good enough.

Played through the original campaign on Switch, exclusively in handheld.

Technical merit of the port aside, it’s a fun game. First hour is a bit dull and linear, but it opens up after that.

    • I would say yes if you plan on playing on TV, as well as getting the paid DLC (not sure if it’s available to purchase in ios port) if you like it.

I tried the trial part of the game and boy, thank god there was a trial. Absolutely terrible performance and ugly graphics!

Absolutely a fantastic 2D action game, started a casual play since it was free on PS+ and keep giving me additional game play experiences every 5-10% of the progress of this game. Never feel bored or farm so far in the game play.
You need a controller to play as the onscreen control actually blocking your vision.
Still challenging with controller but once get used to it, those movements are fully reusable even in boss fights.
Playing on iPad will be better option after I tried on ip16pm.

  • Can you play offline? I need a good game for when I'm hiding in the toilet at work, which doesn't get any service.

    • +1

Yes I'm 99% sure you can

  • Awesome, thanks for sharing this!
Was waiting on a sale for my switch to buy this (around 25$ is what it usually drops to). Will play on my iphone (with controller)>

    Cheers

As someone who loved Ori and Hollow Knight, this game's been great. Gameplay is fantastic and the map is huge, and there are some tricky puzzles and passages that require a lot of quick movements and thought. Highly recommend.

    • Loved both of those games, I should give it a go.

    • Got hollow knight for free but will never pay it cause the stupid developer didn't give us the option to turn off the dumb and annoying screen shake gimmick!!

  • I just looking for offline game on iOS. This game is a good choice.

  • Poopisoft

  • It's on Playstation game catalogue for anyone interested to try.
    Great game
