As part of the Easter Sale AliExpress have brought back its in-house cashback program offering up to 10% cashback as AliExpress credit on all purchases made via the app, desktop or mobile site. You simply join a team and make purchases as normal. As your team earns more points through purchases, your cashback rate increases. The levels are 2%, 4%, 6% and 10%.

AliExpress have already created an OzBargain team that you can join here.

The offer ends April 30 and cashback is issued after your order is sent, it's valid for use on purchases of $1 AUD or more and the credit is valid for 30 days.

Since this is an in-house promotion, you can still earn cashback with TCB, CR and SB, as well as stacking the credit with AliExpress/Store coupons. The Terms and Conditions can be found in the AliExpress app by navigating to Cashback on the homepage.

  • Idk if I even got any cashback from the last one when I made two purchases back in March

    • +4

I did. It's easy to miss because it'll auto apply unless you unselect it at checkout. AliExpress app > Account > Shopping Credits for the history.

      • Oh thanks, yeah actually one did track.

Got A$8.91 but it expires Apr 21st ahh!

        • -2

          Need to compete for %

          Expires April 21!

          Pass…and pass

          • +3

@tunzafun001: You make it sound so hard. Join a team, make purchases as normal, receive cashback after it ships, then use it within 30 days with a $1 minimum spend.

Unless you're purchasing for the sole purpose of getting store credit there really is no added cost. It's just a bonus with 0 work.

            • -4

              @Clear: …Or go through a Cashback app.

Do nothing. None of this compete rubbish. Know the rate you are getting .

              Spend it whenever you want!

Why on Earth would you chose their option.

Unless they stack (which they don't)

              Pass…

              • @tunzafun001: With AliExpress, they all stack ie this store credit with cashback, AliExpress codes, seller discounts and coins.

                • -3

@trixieb: As do the other easier Cashback options.

But this doesn't stack with them.

                  So again..pass.

              • +2

@tunzafun001: Tell me you read the deal without reading the deal. Once you join a team it's already tracking. So if you click through TopCashback you'll get 16% cashback up to 90 days later and AliExpress will give you at a minimum 2% back as shopping credit once the order ships.

                You'd be crazy not to.

                • +1

@Clear: Well… Clear has made it clear.

I read the Ali t&Cs when it was first released, and it said not payable if clicking through any other Cashback portal.

If that it is now allowed.

                  Nice deal!

                  Preparing for purchase/s…

P.S. sorry man. Thanks for persisting.

  • Woohoo, just joined the OzBargain team! 😀

  • Dang just bought something before finding out

    • Me too last night. Doh!

  • +2

Team OzBargain on Aliexpress. Never thought I'd see the day.

    • If I do the ubank card directly whilst my aliexp is set to USD will it charge in USD correctly still

      yep pretty sure that's correct

      • Ah cool thanks, so I won't have to do any fiddling with PayPal anymore :D

  • +1

Made all my purchases last night. FML

  • Nice that I can finally give back to the OzBargain community!

  • What's with that code AUAP17? Is it suppose to work?

  • Anyone know what the leaderboard looks like?

In the previous event there was one team at 10% and the others at 5%.

Team OzBargain should be able to get at least 10,000 orders… This is a fairly large site.

    • Team OzBargain should be able to get at least 10,000 orders… This is a fairly large site

      large site of cheapskates

points are probably earnt based on $ spent, not on number of orders

    • I don't think any team reached 10% as number one team was only up to 6% and the rest were still at 5% according to the final leaderboard for the previous event during the anniversary sale. I doubt there will be any team that can reach more than 4% for this one as the sale is smaller and shorter in comparison to the anniversary sale.

      • +1

what's stopping everyone from joining the top team

        • +2

There is a limit on how many people can join a team so.

      • 10% proof

There was one team that got 10% if I recall and someone posted it on reddit too.

Currently OzBargain is the top team on the leaderboard.

        • I think every country has their own cashback influencer team, because those people look different from the one on the Australian leaderboard at the end of the event when I checked it on the apps. And the TOS also mentions that the credit can only be spent to an address in Australia so that's probably the case. Other country have more chances to get higher tier because they should have more people buying stuff to begin with.

  • They messed up the time as it was supposed to be +11 UTC 16/04/2025 according to the apps, but for some reason the cashback tab disappeared after midnight so I thought it got cancelled or something. Ah well at least it's only 2% this time so I didn't miss out much as it's not even 10 bucks for few hundred dollars purchases that I made.

  • Is checking out with PayPal no longer an option on Ali?

The app is only offering PayPal Pay In 4, not the normal PayPal checkout.

    • I also was having problem with paypal on the apps and resorted to using google pay instead. But paypal still works fine on normal browser which I use for cashback.

      • Ta mate, will give it a go on browser!

        • No worries just be sure to join a team for aliexpress own cashback first before using their website on the browser as the cashback still track your purchases on it.

    • Had no problem using normal PayPal on the app…

      • +1

Not sure why it didn't show up for me.

Even on the desktop browser, I had to click 'more options' in the payment screen and PayPal was listed right at the very bottom!

  • The updated Aliexpress site layout is confusing to navigate. It keeps pushing me to Bundle Deals when I select an item, showing me lots of other items but not the one that I clicked on. Is it only me with this?

    • You need to check underneath the item make sure it doesn't say bundle deal otherwise it will moves you to the bundle deal page regardless of the item. For me it's easier to search specific item on google sometimes instead of using their search bar because it can be really dogshite sometimes as it keeps changing the search result for some reason.

  • Do you only get cashback on the items listed on the cashback page? Cos I usually buy from the coins page with the massive discounts.

Edit: reading the other thread it says you get cashback once the item ships and I assume as long as the item is affiliated it's eligible.

    • Ignore the rules of cashback services. All purchases are eligible with the exception of virtual goods. You'll even see mention of cashback in red text below the price.

      • You'll even see mention of cashback in red text below the price.

Hmm I don't see it on the coins/discount finder page.

        • Individual listings you do.

  • Looks like we're currently at the top of the leaderboard??? Is this correct?

    • Yep we're smashing it. I have no doubt we'll reach 4% in no time.

      • After I pulled my head in…done some solid buying…

BUT….notice AliEx doubles down on GST??

Ie. $500 in cart when adding items.

        Go to Cart… total $550

        Checkout $600

        ???

Are they adding a 10% tarrif to Australia?

        • They incorrectly calculate GST on the full price they charge the seller and not the discount price they charge you.

          • @Clear: Yeah it gets pretty ridiculous.. with enough coupons and credit my last order was charged GST at more like 22%!

            • @Merlict: Everyone just needs to download their tax invoice from AliExpress, get Alibaba's GST number and report to ATO.

          • @Clear: So to clarify…
            I bought bundle discount stuff…

But charged GST on their original values?

Raise a ticket with Ali ?

            • @tunzafun001: I've liaised with Alibaba's legal department directly with little success. I feel the best way is reporting it to the ATO.

It's why I really value the coupons, upsized cashback, Coins discount and this in house cashback program. It makes up for the higher tax.

  • Outstanding once again, @Clear! Another nice little bonus to stack with some of the other AliExpress coupons and coins. Thanks for going into bat for these benefits and for sharing them.

Current sale hasn’t seen as many good deals as the last major sale and I’ve received a number of PMs from people seeking more deals on Reolink cams and NVRs. I suspect many jumped onboard your previous cam deals and have subsequently researched the ecosystem and are looking to add an NVR or more cams. I’ve told them I don’t have a direct connection but would pass on the request to the Ali/Reolink guru. Love your work…

    • +1

We should be at the next tier in no time. I got heaps of requests too and sent a list off to AliExpress for a best price.

  • the only caveat is that the cashback can only be used on AUD purchases and aliexpress pads their USD/AUD exchange rates quite generously. unless the cashback is over 3% it is probably not worth it

    • +1

      Are you sure about this?

I always pay in USD and haven’t had a problem claiming their precious cashback promos…

      • no, i am not 100% sure. i previously earned some bonus dollars on a 2% back on purchases over $100 promotion and it gave me a AUD bonus points which could only be used when paying in AUD on a CC. the T&Cs refer to a minimum spend of $1 AUD. if you have to pay in AUD then you are automatically being screwed 3% on aliexpress's exchange rates

        • +1

Last month, I used my cashback credit for a USD transaction via PayPal.

        • I’m not suggesting it’s impossible that it didn’t work for you, but internal AliExpress cashbacks are typically delivered as a discount off your next purchase after the qualifying item has shipped and the cashback approved. All of mine were accrued on, and subsequently applied to, USD transactions.

Since earned cashbacks are automatically applied to your next order (albeit you can remove it by going into the “saved” section in the checkout page and disabling it so you can use it on a subsequent purchase) and since their application of GST can be dubious at best, it’s easy to overlook the cashback discount when placing orders.

If you go back into your order history, you can drill down on the totals paid and you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that cashback and other $$-off promos have been automatically applied.

        • maybe i am wrong, i am not sure. here are the T&Cs for future reference https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/37385/121037/aliexpres…

          • @c64: T&C's are wrong. I've already used credit from this promotion in USD.

    • I had the same experience with only applying to AUD purchases for the previous business cashback offer. This current cashback is different and works with USD purchases.

  • Team OzBargain has made it to 4% 🎉

As for a certain member who gets really upset with my AliExpress deals. Suck on that.

    • I ordered around 2am today and it said 4% but they only gave me 2% bonus credit. I'm looking in the shopping credit tab. Thanks for the deal either way, better than nothing.

  • Anyone know how to join a specific team?

  • How do you get to the team via Cashreward etc. after joining the ozb team?

    • All you have to do is join the team and it's done. Continue shopping as usual. Click through CR, shop as normal. Nothing is different

  • -1

    @clear

When are we getting paid our bonus cashback?

    Ozbargain team ended at 6%

    I was only paid 2%?

The terms said bonus cashback will be calculated at the end of the promo period?

  • seems like a scam. i got AUD $2.82 shopping credit after spending AUD $154 (< 2%)

    • Exclude the out of whack GST and what is it now?

      • doesn't really make much difference

        @ 10% GST, 2.82 / (154 / 1.10) = 2.0%
        @ 20% GST, 2.82 / (154 / 1.20) = 2.2%

reviewing the T&Cs, it says the bonus shopping credits might be awarded 7 days from the end of the event, so i will wait until then

        • @clear can you confirm?

No one has gotten the extra bonus cashback yet?

This whole thing is so confusing!

          e.g.

If I bought $100 of items when the team score was at 2%, do I get screwed and not get the 4% bonus because the team ended at 6%?

So the people that bought early got screwed?

Or will I still get my bonus 4% soon?

          • @neosin: You don’t get screwed, you get whatever % was active at the time you purchased. I made half a dozen qualifying orders and received 2, 4 or 6% depending on what listed cashback was shown on the leaderboard at the time of purchase.

And in all likelihood, it’s already sitting as credit in your account. It gets added to your account when the item is shipped, as was well explained in the original post.

The Commodore explains below how to verify your payment so you can feel a little less screwed by this additional rebate and hopefully see the glass half full…

            • +1

@UncleRico: i don't think you are right. reading the T&Cs gives me the impression that extra shopping credit will be given 7 days after the event ends, depending on what the rate the team achieved. everyone should get 6% in total for all their purchases

              • @c64: If that’s the case, it’s different from how their previous internal cashbacks ran.

Could be a nice extra bonus if any further cashback comes through, but I’m not holding my breath.

            • @UncleRico: @UncleRico
Nope, the terms and conditions clearly mentions "bonus cashback".

If what you are saying is correct, what's the point of saying bonus cashback will be calculated AFTER the promo ends? Why would you even need to calculate anything AFTER promo ends if you simply get the cashback % AT THE TIME of purchase?

If I can find the original terms I will post a screenshot, but I'm 99% sure because I read it in detail!

It clearly had initial 2% then you get the "bonus team cashback" aka whatever the team ends up with AFTER the promo ends

e.g. if team ends at 6% then you would get
              2% + 4% or 4% + 2% or 6%
which means everyone gets the same total %

It would be the most retarded thing if the people that did all the work to get to 6% be screwed over just to get 2% or 4%!

              • @neosin: @UncleRico

just found 100% proof from last promo, which just had a different %

if you look at the table in the pic, it shows "basic rate" then "bonus rate (aka what the team ends up with) and "final rate"

                https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/144344/120291/screensh…

Term 4 Team Rewards. "once the team reaches specific score milestones, users will receive ADDITIONAL CASHBACK (Calculated after the event ends)

So i was right! Everyone on the ozbargain team should get 6% total (doesn't matter what % it was when you bought)

It does say it will be calculated 7 days after the promo ends so that's still 2-3 days away

                • @neosin: I've received the bonus now.

                  • @Clear: Thanks! Just checked and I just got the bonus!

Everyone should get 6% in total :D
