I love the first game and will definitely grab this eventually. But if the first one didn’t click for you I don’t see why you would pick this up.
Everything I saw about the first one was absolutely not my type of game, even down to the hairs on the back of my neck standing up when certain enemies approached and just plain getting the shivers down my back when I first started playing.
It came to Game Pass PC and I couldn’t put it down. I’m still not sure how I enjoyed it so much, but the world, the Easter Eggs, even shitting my god damned pants for some reason. Loved every minute!
I can definitely understand how it’s not for everyone though
Same happened to me on first try. It started great but then slowed down so i quit. But then i revisited the game and once you know how everything work its just amazing. Spent 100s of hours till almost nothing left to do. I was just building and repairing highways, doing deliveries on foot while listening to music in the game. Didn’t know “Low Roar” before this game.

I've literally heard people say this game cured their dopamine addiction. You should give it another try and let yourself be immersed. It rewards patience.
Wait for the reviews, gameplay loop didnt get interesting until late game when you could start to get guns. They might have learnt from the feedback for the second game.

Also got hooked on the first game after putting it off for years. Game is so unique. If you like trying to be efficient with levelling and doing lots of missions at once then you will love the gameplay.
tempting price considering the digi versions are pushing like $120-140 or something..
played the first… the storytelling was pretty engrossing, albeit typical kojima bonkers stuff. especially the hours long end sequence… but honestly, you can count the actual sequences of gameplay on one hand… hopefully they address that in this one, and the story seems to support that. everythings connected/automated. shouldn't be rocket science, just make it more metal gear with stealth action combat.
I gave up pretty early the first time I tried the first game. Could not put it down the second time I tried though. Great game

Wished it had a non-story mode.
Loved delivering stuff and building roads in the first one. The scenery and the soundtrack is also great. However I stopped playing after the story folded out near the end, it's just pure bs.
