I've been monitoring Sea World accom waiting for a decent package and it's finally appeared!

    Hi! I saw that you can pay an extra $85 per child/person, which would make it 5 people in total. I was thinking of using this deal for myself, my husband, my parents, and my 3-year-old to visit the theme park (my parents live on the Gold Coast so we wouldn't need accommodation).

    I also have a 1-year-old—can I bring her along for free? I understand kids under 3 are free when accompanied by a paying adult, but I just wanted to confirm: under this deal, are we considered "paying adults" even though it's a special offer?

      you could join RACQ on the spot for $89 if necessary (depending on how long you are staying and assuming $89 is less than the amount you’d save)

      I was also worried in the event reception asks for RACQ membership for use of the code. Managed to get a RACQ lifestyle membership for only $5 a year directly on the RACQ website
      I also turned off direct debit to stop the yearly RACQ renewal because I only need membership for the stay.

        If this is correct then the deal should be marked as targeted! It says on that page if you have an RACQ bank account you also get the benefits. It doesn’t cost anything to open a bank account with them. ($0 monthly fees it says)

      Does the Kids card say it includes village roadshow?
      The charge came up on my card as village roadshow so I think you can if it lists village roadshow.

    Anyone have any tips for transport?
    Do people rent cars for a few days to get from the resort to the other parks?

    I hear the resort is really isolated only next to sea world, so I'm worried about the hassle of going out each day to the parks via pt.

    Price-wise split between four people rental doesn't seem that bad.

      I would definitely recommend a hire car if you have kids in tow. Sea World is well away from the main street and ubers will add up to a hire car cost to get into and out of town. Not really taken by the restaurants onsite. Ok for a quick bite but pricey.

          I think you might register your number plate on booking and they're probably only expecting one but there's no boom gates or anything, you'd just be risking that they monitor and tow if they don't recognise the plate

          Parking is wherever you can find space onsite (free). Often the car park is full so have to park along the main street (also free) but pack an umbrella as sometimes its a 100m + walk.

          No registration required as there are no reserved spots for guests

          All the other theme parks are 30-40 km out the back of the gold coast up the highway to Brisbane so you’ll have to factor this in.
          A bus would likely take an hour with stops unless there’s an express and although the fare may be cheap, you will have to get a tran$card set up .
          But that will allow you to use the new light rail they have along the beaches and buses and trains all over SEQ,
          which is definitely worth it while fares are 50c
          (excluding light rail)
          if you’re here for any amount of time.

      Hiring a car is your best bet. The theme parks aren't close and you'll love the flexibility of just jumping on the car.

    Was about to book 1-5 June and looks like 2-8 June rooms are all booked out suddenly, even though they were free yesterday.
    Anyone know why that could be the case?

      Yes, they will email e-tickets the day before check in and you can go to any theme park on both days. My tip is check in online, then park in the resort car park which is further down the road and leave bags with concierge. Then you can enter via the resort entrance. They will sms when the room is ready.

    Anyone know how to book interconnecting rooms? We are a family of 8 so will need 2 rooms - website says "Interconnecting rooms available". I am guessing I book and then request them as there doesn't appear to be an option in the booking process.

      Unlikely. Most of the rooms were 2 x Double or 2 x Queen. It will say it on your reservation, as is the custom for hotel bookings…

    Just returned from our stay, and I have no idea what the point of upgrading to the studio room is for. The fitout of the room we were given looked pretty old and dinky. While It was clean,it just looked cheap. Like a motel room. 5/10

    The buffet breakfast was not bad. Lots of choices and wasn't as busy as some have suggested. We were there during the week, got there around 8, and never saw a line. 8/10

    I do have to commend their service standard. Especially for an Australian business with lots of young people working there, they were all very polite and helpful. 10/10

    Overall it's worth it for the money we paid. Maybe we'll try the premium rooms next time this deal comes around.

    But I can't imagine how anyone would be happy with full price for what we stayed in.

        We didn't stay at the "resort" much because, firstly the weather was cold and rainy, so we couldn't really make use of the pool or waterplay equipment. Secondly the pool is only open 9am-7pm, and since we spent the days at all the theme parks, there's no chance to use them anyway.
        Also the Japanese Restaurant and the dinner buffet restaurant weren't open on the week days we were there, so we always ate off site. If you want to eat there you have to stay on Fri-Sun.
        On site parking wasn't too bad, always found a spot that's not too far from the entry. Probably why those restaurants aren't open.

        Theme parks are pretty much what you'd expect.
        Sea World is very much for young kids. The dolphin show is a bit lacklustre. The main stunt show is alright. For adults there's only the Leviathan and Storm Coaster operating when I went, and they were OK. If you're going on the Storm Coaster, you will get wet, especially if you're on the front row. I got completely soaked. But you can just walk back to your room to change.

        Movie World is the best park with rides for all ages. Must visit.

        On our last day we did Paradise Country for a couple of hours, went to Movie World again, then went to Wet n Wild for 1 hour.
        We should have went to Wet n Wild after Paradise country 2nd because they close early at 3pm.
        I had very low expectations for Paradise Country, but it was actually not too bad. Their shows were entertaining enough.

          Shame about the room experience for you, which area did you stay in?

          I'm staying in the Bay Wing regular rooms and they are quite nice, possibly more recently updated. I was expecting the worst tbh.

          Not many food options nearby, I had uber eats delivery as I was exhausted from the flight + activities afterwards.

    I got a fairly good car rental rate with Europcar and 20% off first booking via newsletter signup…. Bought the excess insurance seperately through rentalcover.

      Europcar didn't have my cheapo Hyundai ioniq fully charged so I was offered a better car. Got the Hyundai Tucson hybrid. Very nice to drive!

      They didn't check my racq membership, but for $5, it's certainly worth getting just in case.

      Arrived at 2.15pm and room wasn't ready, so just headed straight into sea world. Caught the dolphin show at 3.30pm.
