Laptop - What The Best One Today - Budget $1500

Hi, basically looking for the best laptop around for $1500.

I've checked so many different websites. JB Hi-Fi, Goodguys, Officeworks, online shopping. There are so many different kinds of PC, specs. To be honest I'm a bit lost when trying to compare all of them.
I've got a 5 year old laptop so really need to upgrade ASAP.

What do you think is the best one on the market at present for $1000/$1500?

I'll be using for basic stuff, video, movies, also need something where I can run some recent program (architecture …). Do not really need a gaming laptop but if he can do the job why not. Would like something 2 in 1 , with a digital screen / pen

I've been looking at Lenovo-yoga-7i-2-in-1-gen-9-14-inch for around $1300 but found mixed reviews about it.

Please feel free to let me know what you think is the best one for $1500 mark.

Thanks everyone and Happy Easter!

What are the specs of that unit? If it's ok and just running slow a fresh OS install can create miracles. Even an SSD upgrade or a stick of RAM can add years of service with minimal outlay.

    • Brush out dust of fans/vents and maybe a thermal repaste and you’re set

A gaming laptop won't be portable and it's battery life will be fairly mediocre. If this is a laptop you plan to be traveling with a lot, I'd focus more on weight, build quality, battery and display brightness. (measured in Nits). Get something business-grade like a Lenovo Thinkpad T / X series or a Dell Latitude 5000 / 7000 and avoid the consumer grade laptops.

Check the Lenovo flash sale site https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/d/deals/flashsale/?ipromoID=Meg… for their weekly rotation.

If this is a laptop that you're only going to leave at home and plugged in all day, then a gaming laptop will be fine, but a Lenovo E16 is probably enough for a non-gamer.

  • Look at Metabox.

Often "Gaming" laptops are just high spec'd laptops. I have a "gaming" machine, but don't game. I have had "gaming" laptops, but never used them to game. Just wanted to the nicer specs.
