Not much of a 1st person shooter gamer but played this one to the finish and found most secrets. Just mindless fun with great music
Not much? Its a fantastic fps. The game design encourages you to literally not hide and go shoot things - its refreshing.

I loved this doom, couldn't get around Eternal as it felt too tactical
Yep, i tried Eternal on Game Pass after 2016, didn't beat 1st level, so different. Many loved it, so good for them. Made for different audience.

@srven3: Apparently the new doom will have a similar type of gameplay like this one, so might worth a look
@srven3: I did finished it, but it was definitely not that fun, those guys with the energy shield were a bit annoying.
i realized something during the play through this happens with the original games i enjoyed Doom 1, but despite it similarities i did not like Doom 2.
but then again people rave about prey the eyeball one and i thought it not worth the time i spent on it - i wanted to try the cancelled one
