Looks like the cheapest this booster bundle goes for on eBay is around $120, so this is definitely a good deal!

I'm sure the booty hurt will flow when people read my comment that I've got 10 of these on the shelf that I got at target last year hoping to get a master set but was unable to get more because of scalpers

Yeah I didn't realise what the 151 meant until they had been out for like a year and a half and then got really excited and managed to get 10 booster bundles and I was hoping to get heaps more because I really wanted a master set and I was gonna offload duplicates to my other mates trying to complete 151 but as most people know a master set of these will take a lot of bundles to complete so I just held onto them hoping for a reprint. Would still be interested in buying a pile of these but at 25% more I'm not sure. But yeah if I can't get more I will be holding onto mine I could have been one of those douche bags that made $1200 off 10 but I'm not trying to do that I don't need the money I wanted the childhood memories. From my understanding Australia didn't get very good allocations so it helped the scalpers more than the collectors in the end. Would be awesome if we got flooded this time.

Considering this has been in stock over a week now, im guessing EB games has a huge allocation.
I have two sealed 151 booster bundle displays and i'm happy that there is more stock.
Hopefully we get flooded with them would be amazing. Hopefully other places have them I wouldn't be too angry about the 25% mark up compared to last year if I was able to get heaps I guess. Gotta catch em all

I actually rejoined the hobby because of SV151. I managed to get myself a bit to open from amazon before the hype kicked in.
My biggest regret was not buying a 151 UPC when amazon had them for $150-200. I ended up buying the promos and contents on ebay for $100 :(.
I still haven't completed my masterset. Still missing a few IR's including charmander and I bought the SIR zard for $150 pretty eatly on.
I have some sealed product because I lived through the release of Base set. Really wish i could find my cards or kept some packs sealed to display! I still remember pulling the base set zard.
i would love to keep some packs to open with my kid some day. Unless it ends up being worth a car… then i guess its going on ebay.

5+ years post printing is 2-300% depending on the product. Picking the right product is critical. The returns on modern product is also hard to predict given how much stock is being printed and is being retained by investors.
A good example is the 151 Elite Trainer Boxes. They were on clearance at Target for $50. Now they are valued at $300. Check out the collectr app is you want to know more.
This set is very popular and this product will go up in value (market price is ~$100). Big fish in this game have several 151 display cases, not just a single booster bundle. You wont get rich from one box.
This hobby has lasted 25+ years, however like all good collectibles it can end at any point.
I'm fine with people (collectors/investors) holding product for 5-10 years, however currently this hobby has been infiltrated by market manipulators who further the current scarciy in order to make s quick buck. If you are buying something today, in order to sell it tomorrow.
Just leave it on the shelf for someone else and buy some shares.
Not many people end up holding for 5+ years anyway.

Yes trading… But the first thing you said was resale and then in your next comment profitability… Pokémon TCG has been corrupted by scalpers and people reselling sealed products for ridiculous profit. Anybody that really wanted to collect all of these should have been able to buy as many as they wanted but that has been ruined by greed. There's nothing wrong with buying dozens of these to open them and build a collection even if you want to get the cards graded and sell them that's what it's all about but selling the sealed products for profit is what everybody hates

I did an analysis the other day about how much a booster pack is worth on average.
151 packs are the most valuable packs of the SV series with $12.80 on average per pack. So 6 packs should be worth around $77. $50 is definitely a bargain, too bad I missed out.
Prismatic has probably taken over 151 cureenflg IMO. Mainly due to scalpers and undersupplied launch by TPC.
Have you heard of prismatic eeveeluutions?
A prismatic evolutions pack is worth $12.50 on average.
But that average includes god packs worth thousands. If you disregard god packs, then they are probably worth less than $7-8 on average.
The ones I managed to buy are only worth around $4 at most.The calculation includes the current market price of individual cards and how likely it is to pull them.
Even though 151 is only the 4th most valuable set in SV (worth less than 1/6th of prismatic evolutions), its individual packs are most valuable.
@cbrbargain: They are basically printing money, probably costs them 10 cents to print a pack and then mark it up 1000x times.
