    is it a bargain?

    • +7

No. The last 5+ published deals this year have been sub $250

These are not SC so not comparable.

Only difference being one has a hard case and one has a soft case?

        • These are not SC so not comparable

Identical except for the case and colour options. If you're happy with black and a soft case you could save yourself over $100.

Does this model have the ability to turn off the ANC completely (passive mode)? The SC has an annoying feature where sound modification is ALWAYS ON.

    • I have the QC35 ii , the QC45's, and Quietcomfort (the model advertised here) and only the QC35 ii's allow you to turn the ANC off.

I think they removed this option because they wanted to move this feature to their premium model the quiet comfort ultra.

Nope, the Ultra's don't allow this either. Wtf.

      • The QC45 allows you to switch between 'Quiet Mode' and 'Aware Mode' using the action button. Aware mode "allows you to hear your surroundings while still enjoying your audio. It uses the external microphones to amplify and bring in sounds from the environment." I guess that's not exactly like turning off ANC, but functionality that's had the same effect for me when using them.

        • Yeah, not the same unfortunately. The aware mode is more like an electric hearing aid. The best audio quality from any of the three pairs I own are from the QC35II's when the ANC is switched off. Of course, that benefit is only of use when you're listening in a quiet environment, otherwise the ANC mode is far preferable.

    • Not sure about these, but when I use my Sony phones with a cable, I don't even turn them on.

Difference between this and the cheaper sub $250 deals is that this one:
    - Comes in multiple colours
    - Comes with Hard Case instead of soft case

    • Is the hard case better/worse than the soft case? I imagine it just provides more protection? But would also take more space?

      • +1

it's not worth 70-100 dollars, AliExpress has cases that look the same (down to the logo on the zip) for under 10. (I have QC35 with hard case, the case doesn't take up much extra room)

  • Lol no way bro… too exxy
