      Even better, Thanks.

And? They'll easily cost at least double of the headphones posted here.

      • Howard has agreed to give select ozbargainers, a 40% discount code.

      • And so XM4s should get even cheaper.

Unlikely. I paid $237.60 for my pair of seconds WH-1000XM4 in July 2021.

    • Hopefully the design will be better than the XM5's with broken hinges within a year of use.

    • There has been no need to upgrade since the XM3. Sony will produce a new model to increase the RRP and stop production of the XM4. The biggest change in the XM5 was being produced from recycled plastic and a design that most would call a downgrade.

"First post, go easy on me."

No. We won't go easy on you, Howard.

    • Damn you, Howard.

  • Bought these last time. Came in original box. Couldn't see any signs of use.

These are great headphones, I bought mine as factory seconds too about 18 months ago - came in what appeared to be the original box but it was slightly bent a bit, however no signs that the headphones had ever been actually used.

Last night I grabbed a pair of WF-1000XM5 earbuds, there is a 15% discount code plus the APRIL6, so it brought the price down from $249 to $198.95

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285787081701

You have to apply APRIL6 manually, the 15% code gets added automatically though.

Bought mine from Sony Seconds eBay about three years ago now. Same experience, box was sealed but ever so slightly damaged. Contents all brand new. They’re served me very well (admittedly they’ve sometimes gone weeks without use) and battery is still excellent too. Doesn’t seem like they’ll need replacing for a long time. It’ll be a sad day when they do.

For anyone considering these headphones (or for anyone who already owns them), I strongly suggest playing around with the equaliser settings using this page as a guide.
I really liked the settings provided by user 3_50.
Sadly there are far too many people who spend good money on audio equipment and have no idea how to customise the sound to their tastes, or they just crank up the lower frequencies thinking that a muddy bass-heavy sound is ideal. When you land on a setting that works for you, your ears will thank you!

  • How about TVs from them. Worth taking a chance?

    • do you mean would we trust Sony Australia to sell a legit Sony TV? or are Sony TVs any good?

      • Means refurbished tv from Sony eBay.

        • yeah, they're usually indistinguishable from new.

Excellent headphones, battery life is still good, sound is great to my non-audiophile ears :)

  • some awesome deals to be had with these codes. grabbed ULT Wear (a basshead yeah) for $160, A7R iii plus 70-200 F4 G OSS for $3000 all up..
