Great collection! Just a heads-up that the first two games are 2-player co-op only.

Its called AlphaRing, great for 4 player coop on PC with a big screen.
For what it's worth, these work really well on Steam Deck. Halo 1-3 run at a silky 60 fps.
I've tried to play it on Steam Deck, wont get past the loading screen. Might need to get a refund

I had to log in (MS/Xbox profile) on first boot, which could do funny things if the window doesn't get focus. After that it's flawless.
Worth opening from Desktop mode once to see if that helps you get past the login (this goes for lots of games).
Yeah tried a few times in game and desktop mode. Desktop the keyboard wont open even with the Steam app open. Game mode it just a translucent box that wont load anything. Ill keep trying

Amazing. Buying despite owning the 360 + XB1 MCC discs and the digital MCC. Need this natively on my steamdeck (xcloud is good but need that offline function!).
Halo: Combat Evolved is literally the best game I've ever played. If you've never played these this is so worth it.

I have this on xbox one x (shortest console life in history).. im tempted to buy on steam because im a ps5 and PC guy now.. and trying it on a beasty PC would be good.
I went the other way. I don't have a console but bought an Xbox controller and installed this on my htpc to play from my couch.
Much more comfortable than sitting at a desk.
Interesting - I personally find FPS are much easier to play with keyboard and mouse, but agree on the comfort factor

Do I need to add all the dlc for $65 to get everything in this bundle? Or is the bundle all of those things already?
You can buy the collection (currently $14.98) to get all the games. Or, if you were really only interested in one or two, you can only buy those as DLC & ignore the others.
No need to add all the DLC to the cart, just add the Master Chief Collection (with 7 items) to get everything.

Sorry for the noob question but assume buying it from MS means you can only play via Xbox/PC and buying on Steam you can only via Steam software?
Is there any difference in terms of performance with either one being better?

Basically you need steam installed to be able to play your steam games. And youll need windows installed xbox app to play the microsoft games..
I miss the days where all you needed was windows.. but now everyone wants your data so they make you use your app.
Steam will let you play on their deck and xbox will let you play on pc and xbox for a lot of games. Microsoft might be bringing out a handheld as well. But thats ages away
I’m very pc illiterate and recently purchased a MSI Cubi 5 12M-024AU.
Having never played the games and just finished the tv series on Netflix/Apple the timing for this is perfect.
Would my computer be able to run some or even all of the games in this collection?

What may work is getting GamePassUltimate which includes Cloud Gaming - with this you don't need powerful hardware to play the games available on XBox Cloud Gaming and there are a fair few games available.
You can either use your existing keyboard and mouse or buy a Microsoft XBox controller
