  • It keeps randomly switching between A$ and US$ for me, hopefully this isn't an issue if you're logged in or during checkout.

Thanks OP - 50% off Battle Chest is a great RTS deal.

  • +5

I remember buying the original physical warcraft 2 and warcraft 3 battlechests from eb games aeons ago for about $10 each.

  • +4

Have they fixed Warcraft III Reforged?

Always wanted to give remastered a go but the reviews were horrendous.

    • +1

They did release a fairly significant 2.0 patch about 6 months ago that improved quite a few issues, and they are still patching it since then, it’s in much better shape than it was at launch.

      • +5

Ok cool. Warcraft III was so good at the time.. Ahhh peak Blizzard days..

        Got it, thanks OP!

  • +5

If you already own Warcraft III: Reforged, reduced price for this is: $15.16

    • Shows $18.85 for me - I suspect you might have already had one of classic warcraft titles as well that dropped it down a bit further.

  • how good are the graphics ?

  • Thanks OP! This hits some nostalgic feelings, I will check this out < 3

  • Is this easy to get going on a steam deck?

  • +3

    The original WC3 is better.

  • +3

maybe time to give reforged another go

    Where's the Bored Aussie servers?

    • +1

      If i remember correctly, they're at 69.64.37.226

Sadly i think they left the buildjng.

    For the hoard!

  • I want a physical release

Reforged works on the Mac, however I and II are PC only.

Just wanted to ask - which software workarounds do Mac users here use for such games/software?

    • +1

      Crossover or Whisky (free option)

      • -1

Crossover is great. Bit on the pricey side.

Have you had success with Whiskey? Drivers and such all work?

        • +1

It's hit or miss tbh, I would wait for crossover to go on sale; around Christmas it's usually 70% off. Games like Fallout New Vegas, I use an old version of Parallels. Now that m1 has AVX, I can run more stuff on it; VMware might work as a free alternative.

Another option is Heroic Games Launcher, it's the launcher I use for the game I get free on Prime. Supports only Amazon, Epic games and GOG.

          • @rowdywabbid: Ok cool, thanks for taking the time to reply.

Crossover is going on my 'Black Friday' calendar. 70% off is fair. I used to use and would ideally use Parallels, but since they moved to a subscription model then I'm out.

Does Reforged really work on Macs? The system requirements only mention Intel processors.

      • I tried it not too long ago on an M1 Macbook (although I was using classic graphics)…the menu ran absolutely horribly, however once you got into a game, it seemed alright.

      • -1

Gave it a brief shot on the M4 Mac Mini with full specs and it ran smoothly. Might be different with lots of units, battles etc.

    Nice deal !

  • Bought but no way to install any games. Game pages say they’re in library but no install button. Searched the forums and looks like a common issue.

    Waiting for support now.

    • +1

Had the same thing. Logged out of the blizzard launcher and logged back in via the Europe server, this then allowed me to download the games.

      • +1

        Relevant username! Thank you!

        • He’s not, he’s just a naughty boy 😜

      • Now it’s giving me error 6.10 when trying to login. Ended up refunding it.

        • +1

Read someone else was getting that error. But I've gone back into it a few times and it's working for me at the moment.

  • +1

Just had a quick shot on Reforged. Looks beautiful on all graphic options cranked up! Hopefully no bugs.

Looking forward to going through it again. Its been so long that it feels like I'm going in fresh.

    • How does it run on your Mac? What computer are you running?

      • -1

On an M4 Mac Mini. Only played very briefly, no battles or many units at once so its early to say. But it ran very well with full specs.

  • +3

Loving the Warcraft II remaster - an all time classic. Even if you don't want to pick up the newer ones this is a great deal.

  • I would, but I'm not ever giving Blizzard a dollar.

    • They are owned by MS these days FYI.

      • +1

Its sad what has happened with Blizzard.

There was a time you could count on every release being gold standard.

        • gold standard , that went out years ago when the US dollar became the reserve currency , so a historical term as we entered the era of agile and minimal viable product for software releases.

  • this or dota ?

  • -1

I used to play a lot of TDs. Are they the same as the wc3 ones. DBZ td pokemon battle the og TFT

  • I have the original CD of Warcraft 2 and this has re-ignited my interest in what was one of my fav 90s games. Is it worth getting the remaster or is it relatively easy to get the old CD up and running? I have a CD-Rom drive.

    • +1

Yes I think it is worth it. You can actually switch live between old classic and new remastered graphics so you can pick your preference of nostalgia verses higher res.

      • Thanks - do you know if it comes with the Dark Portal expansions, etc? It doesn't really say, I don't actually understand the difference between

        Warcraft® II: Remastered
        Warcraft® II: Battle.net® Edition

  • I got this last year on sale and it has been fun to play it again after so long. First played Warcraft I on an old Macntosh in the mid 90’s.

    Zug, zug!
    Yes, my Lord!
    Glad to be of service!

  • Deogracias OP!
