40k is massive, I can see why they didn't add the weight into specs.

Obligatory cannot bring this on plane.

Maximum is 27k without having to ask airline for permission.

Some airlines may restrict you on using it during the flight.

    • It's laptop-level of a power bank, but because it's only 20w it can't adequately maintain a laptop's charge if you're using it. So it's probably only good for camping or emergencies.

    • I took had trips with it to Thailand and Bali both through Singapore, at least have been to 8 checkpoints with it, none of them complained! I may been lucky tho?

Edit: Anker claims the largest power bank on most flights is 43K?

  • The integrated USB cable. Very convenient. I wish my powerbank had that.

For some reason Cygnett don't list this model on their website.

The weight and size is actually less than expected for this capacity: another site says it's 630 grams.

  • Really not sure about this brand, they're often far too cheap to even cover the costs of that amount of batteries + the size is too small for that much power… Also it apparently takes a literal day to recharge.

Tempted to buy one to test its actual capacity and return it when it's not legitimate…

    • the only one that looks decent is the 192Wh power pack.
      https://www.cygnett.com/products/roam-192wh-portable-power-s…

but price is too high have to wait for a sale. only suspicious thing is it doesn't reveal if it's LifePO4 or not.

      • Cygnett: 223mm (L) x 150mm (W) x 53mm (D) = 1,772,850 millimeters3 / 2.8KG / 192Wh
        Kings: 209mm (L) x 157mm (W) x 72mm (D) = 2,362,536 millimeters3 / 3KG / 307.2Wh

May be legit. As it's 52000mAh, it's 3.7v, so sounds like lithium ion not LiFePO4

https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/24ah-lithium-portable-power… I'd go with Kings instead personally, cheaper and a more well known brand. It's 12v LiFePO4 internally. They're a highly reputable brand of LiFePO4 batteries

        • yes I have the smallest kings 12Ah 12.8V (would be 41,000mAh at 3.7V) very happy with it even though I never used the Cigarette output, only use the USB ports.

Kings claims 1000 cycles 100% DOD (draining it to 0% everytime and charging it up to 100%). one ozb user said 1000 cycles sounds bad for LifePO4, but I think others quoting 3000~5000 cycles etc are not for 100% DOD but maybe 60 or 70% DOD or something.

was useful info anyway, because the Kings has a funny charging indication (all 4 lights constant on means still 30 mins of charging to go) so since learning about 1000 cycles 100% DOD, I always stop the charge when 4 lights turn on. maybe 90% or whatever, and I only drain it to about 30% each cycle, so hopefully I get at least 2000 to 3000 cycles (I didn't do this in the beginning, I charged to 100% everytime checking with USB power meter).

    • I've been happy with my Cygnett ChargeUp Power Bank 20K: https://www.cygnett.com/products/reserve-3rd-gen-20k-green

I like the green fabric surface. I use this battery with a 12V step-up power adaptor to power my Digitakt drum machine sampler. Works flawlessly. To your point, I noticed the same thing. The battery in the picture looks too small for 40k. I think you should definitely buy it and test!

      • https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/24ah-lithium-portable-power… You may be interested in this if it's 12v you're after, it's 300Wh so will last ages (equal to ~80000mAh @ 3.7v / 4 of those, plus the fact you don't have conversion loss)

        • Looks like a good product, but I wanted a small battery that fits in the same case as the audio device. The cygnett is small, runtime is acceptable, no noticeable heat. The audio device pulls max 7 watts so the Cygnett manages fine.

I like LiFePO4 batteries though, and the Kings looks good. I own all kinds of batteries and power stations, it's becoming a bit of a bad habit to acquire more batteries.

          • @cerealJay: Yeah similar here, got into a habit of collecting them… They're amazing to have during power outages though, neighbours suddenly love you.

Edit: p.s. It was $179 on sale, it's now $249 again.
