Razer Nommo Pro 2.1 THX Speakers $256.44 + Delivery @ PB Tech

80

Was after a set of 'reasonable' speakers to replace a failed set of Bose 2.1 speakers for my primary work desktop at home and stumbled across the heavily discounted Razer Nommo Pro's. These are an older model but spec wise outperform the newer units. They dont have airplay support but do have bluetooth. RRP is $999 from manufacturer so at $256 is a bargain. Ive only had 2 days with mine but they are awesome as a desktop setup. Sound is incredibly crisp and the bass from the sub packs a punch. Seems easy to tune the equaliser using included app. For Mac users im connected via USB and the volume dial controls the MacOS volume output which is a step forward from my previous Bose units.

Happy to answer questions as I can… Only surprise was the size of the speakers and sub are slightly larger than anticipated, not monstrous but larger than the Bose units they replaced.

  • How many watts are these magical speakers and subwoofer putting out?

      • If thats true, its not terrible for PC speakers, why hide the fact? Maybe the original price tag I suppose.

Agree they are dreaming @ $999 but for this price they sound, look and function quite well. im not a gamer but tested some FLAC songs I had with them and the sound was great. Was comparing them to our primary system as reference Yamaha RXA 3050 amp driving a 7.1 Wharfedale setup.

The volume / input control is a nice touch.

  • Wish I could have a set of these speakers—might save me tens of thousands on my PC Hi-Fi journey!

    RRP is $999

trust me if they worth even a third of this RRP you won't find this bargain

      What would you recommend?

That rewiew is so legit too from tech radar, I trust it 100% 🤣🤣🤣

    • Are you serious or forgot /s sign?

  • Logitech G560 - I own this one and can't fault it.

Based on reviews and feedback on Reddit, the general consensus is the Razer Nommo Pro do sound slightly better but would only matter to pure audiophiles and the price gap was too much.

In saying that these two speakers can now be purchased for less than $20 difference.
    Logitech G560 $239 - https://amzn.asia/d/eqSWy8a

I don't think you can go wrong at these price points, but have a read around reddit and watch youtube to make your mind up!

    -Base not as punchy

    Yep! /s

Three inch driver crossing into a sub that small and they're claiming 35hz as usable, or i'd assume the f3? Get outta here. It might be a bargain relative to other "gamer" audio products but they should be more transparent in their specs.

Just get the Logitech z623 system for $219 and be done with it, you know you want to 🤣

    Available from Amazon 👍🏼

    • Do you have a set? What’s do you like the most?

      • +2

I DO have a set actually. Had it for years. The bass on the z623 really cranks, its almost overwhelming, (you can turn the bass right down tho) and they sound pretty great for music. Not great for dialogue IMHO as they are missing some decent mids but they are still a rockin set of speakers that make alot of noise. The set you purchased may have a little more finnese and clarity. The z623 are more like a loud party speaker setup in my opinion. Still great for what they are.

I had a Logitech Z5500 system and honestly, it's the best sounding set up I've ever had.

Playing PS5 with that 5.1 system with the massive sub was incredible…then I got married and now it's gone

  • Does it has microphone? Im thinking wfh setup (zoom team) and then play music when there not on call.

    • No microphone, don’t know if you’d want that built into speakers anyway? Im using a Logitech stream cam i got on an Ozbargain sale, great value for what I paid.

      • Hmm actually e can use the laptop built in mic, but the sounds come from this speaker

  • +1

I bought a set of Logitech Z623 2.1 off marketplace for $80. I would happily pay the $219 that they're going for on Amazon after hearing them in action - good clarity at low volume for music/gaming/speaking, and heaps of spare power (200W) for when I want it louder. There's no Bluetooth functionality, but that's fine for me as it sits on the desk for the PC.

There's no product on the market at 230W with Bluetooth that should be worth $999, and even $300 is pushing it for brand new.

  • I have the original Nommo speakers and regret it as they are so large they don't fit properly on the edges of my double wide-screen monitors,, nor behind them without facing sideways. My next pc speakers will be low

    • Unsure if these are bigger or smaller than yours, they are definitely larger than I expected but they fit perfectly next to my single monitor on my desk.

      • For anyone interested, according to online sources:
Razor Nommo Pro V2 tweeters stand at 10.5" (26.7cm), and the sub is even taller.
Logitech Z623 tweeters are 19.6cm tall each (and 11cm across), with the sub being 28.4cm tall.
So yes, the Razor tweeters are taller by 7cm

  • Anyone tried this set up and the KEF EGG DUO pair (supply own sub, if needed - I don't as I listen to music only)?
