  • Is Lego Insiders what you need to be part of to get the Gift With Purchase sets that I see on marketplace?

    • +1

Yes typically - but you effectively get it anyway when you make an account to make a purchase.

      • Thank you.

  • Is there anywhere to pick up the UCS Republic Gunship for a decent price? I missed that one

    • Can you define what a decent price is?

  • +1

Wow, I don't remember lego doing discounts very often like this. Nice one!

The UCS razor crest has only been on discount this steep a couple times, too. Snapped one up as soon as I could

Target is cheaper(although only 75 cent)

      Yeah definitely worth noting.

One nice thing is at least you get about 5% back with lego on any future purchases on that site. So if you anticipate you may want to purchase from there again you should get around 10 bucks in points discounts back. That's potentially a big if, though

But you're definitely better off buying through LEGO for the GWP's and VIP points right now.

But other than may 4th promos, retail stores with actual upfront discounts are the way to go + you can't get VIP points on future orders with redeemed points, so. during x2 Vip, it's not truly a 10% discount, more like 5% over 2 orders

      • +1

        Yeah - agree

Most of the time your best bet is a 20% discount everywhere else.

I've noted somewhat of a pattern where a set becomes less available in retail though after a period of time - eg Dune Ornithopter atm - so sometimes going through lego with a points bonus may be your best bet (assuming you intend to make a future purchase)

  • There's a queue for Lego website? Really…

    • +1

I'm half surprised.. The sets on offer this year aren't any good. Only Jango is exclusive

      • Razor Crest is a good buy. Hasnt been cheaper elsewhere in a long while and due to retire

        • I do like the UCS but honestly, this is probably the least practical of the half dozen variations at this point.

  • +1

Cash Rewards also have 6% cashback at lego for the next few days. Saves an additional $39 on the Razor Crest

    • Does using VIP points invalidate the cashback?

      • That i dont know, nothing in the T&C's, but i didnt just to be safe. Only have small amount of points though, so wouldnt have made a big difference to me.

        • Was going to cancel my order and re-order but Razor Crest just went out of stock so I'll leave the order haha

75331 "compatibles" which in my experience (I bought a death star) are block for block identical are 1/10th the price.

    i.e. LEGO , $719, aliexpress $60… just saying.

Yes its not LEGO.. but if (like me) you're just making display sets for the movie room, it's stupid to buy then build at that price!

EDIT, price changed after I put it in cart and it's only 1/4 price… ha, $220, but still!

I recommend the MINISO stores, have bought ~6 kits now and all look ok, not built any mind you, just bags of bits

Counter with the lego room having cheap knockoff tv and audio gear from aldi special buys.
