    Guess the wine game again…

  • Isn't Ulithorne famous for inflated RRPs?

    • +3

      This is not Ulithorne.
      This… is… Spartaaaaaa.

      • Ha ha! Nicely played ;)

  • I recommend that people give Skye Cellars a go. I've been a member for 6 months and the wine is generally excellent value (had a couple of rough bottles of 2021 Archery Road Cabernet - but that was all) plus delivery is free.

  • Waiting for a price drop to $99/dozen. I like round'ish numbers.

This treasure hunt to work out the exact wine is much harder than the Ultihorne the other day!

    • Nope.

      • ZERELLA WINES "VITO" MCLAREN VALE SHIRAZ 2023

        • Nope

  • Hint: We don't stock the labelled version of this wine.

    • It's not Ulithorne.

  • Coriole Sparta shiraz is well under the $50RRP.

    • I was thinking it was something from Curtis given their Sparta Logo…?

      • Curtis have no $50 cellar door price (that nobody in their right mind ever pays) shiraz.

The Coriole is a $28 wine that can be readily had for a few dollars less.

Has to be that one as per the comment above. 3.8 @ vivino (although that rating is based on full price) and 93 rated at Nicks Wine Merchant so pretty good price for the bottle.

Shame I've got like 60 bottles of reds in my cellar

  • I think this is becoming like a game of GUESS THE WINE.
    So, let's play.

Whoever guesses it first, will win a free dozen of this wine.

So far no one has found it.
    Good luck.

      But I'll guess Angove

    • Monterra Reserve McLaren Vale?

I'd hazard a guess and say it is one of these 3:
Bayliss Road Single Vineyard McLaren Vale Shiraz 2023, Crown & Anchor McLaren Vale Shiraz 2023 or Alpha Box & Dice 2023 Shiraz?

      • 2022 Rusty Trombone Shiraz?

  • Songlines Estates Basket Pressed McLaren Vale Shiraz 2022

  • Bondar Wines Midnight Hour Shiraz 2023

  • I am usually very good at working these things out before I buy hidden name wine but this has got me stumped after doing some serious searching.

      So, what's the answer?

    • +1

Any other clues you can provide? Seems to be a particularly difficult one or maybe a wine not sold widely. Do they have a cellar door in McLaren Vale?

    • Bold claim, without providing any proof or at least more hints!

  • I'm happy I bought the unlabelled Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021 second batch a few weeks ago. Lovely to drink right now, and smooth as silk, I reckon it was worth more than $10 a bottle at least by 5. Great company to deal with and honest in their dealings.
