Kogan X98J (Budget OLED?) - Anyone Have Experience?

After coming to the sad realisation that a 77" OLED was out of my budget (Lg,Samsung,Sony), I stumbled across this while looking for alternatives. It seems promising, but the lack of reviews has me a bit hesitant.

Does anyone have any experience or general thoughts on this tv?

Giving $3k to Kogan seems to be a big risk.

I'd pick up a secondhand LG OLED before touching Kogan personally - the panels don't fill me with confidence
Hell even TCL/Hisense's micro LED are close to OLED in terms of blooming - this would be my pick.

Returns would be painful let alone warranty.

    • Thanks for the input, I was also worried about returns/warranty. definitely leaning more towards a mini led at this point. The C7K's been catching my eye. its for a pretty dark room so I was worried about non OLED blooming, but then again anything's an upgrade over my old 2018 43" Samsung haha

I think for some models they use LG panels.

Even with that a TV is much more than just a panel. And Kogan upscaling and other processing would be rubbish.

If there is an issue, I know from experience. You will need to get fair trading involved to get a response.

Go with a tcl mini led. It will probably have better performance than a Kogan oled.

  • $3k for a Kogan? I'd rather pay $4k for a LG 77inch

    • Even $3k was stretching the budget but I can definitely see your point :)
