Day 741 of trying to find a solid and well priced stand alone electric steamer.
Doesn't it only pour out an espresso?
You're correct, but not about this machine.
This is just the coffee shot, it doesn't do milk. Definitely for the better at this price point lol.
I have the slightly bigger Lavazza pod machine and frother. Makes a great cup of coffee.
Does it take Aldi pods(K-fee) into this machine?
No - only Lavazza A Modo Mio brand pods.
Look at Lavazza pod prices before you actually purchase this lol.
Are they particularly expensive?
~$8 for 16 on sale at ColesWorth & Amazon.
There's no real other option except theirs and if you don't get them on special they're pricey. Alternatively, if you prefer another brand to try you're fresh out of luck.
Nespresso compatible are definitely cheaper, plus you can swap it up if you want.
The poda are almost the only expense.
Box of 16 are about $8 on sale @ColesWorth & AmazonHere 4 x box of 16 Capsules are $44.10 + delivery. Making machine ~$12.
Issue is there are no alternative pods for these machines - only Lavazza A Modo Mio brand. So need to be sure before entering this coffee pod environment.
Been using Lavazza A Modo Mio machines for 10 years. Machines are reliable & cheap / free.
Lavazza once sent 480 free pods + $25 per machine profit when bought 11 in an old Deal💰Bought Lavazza Voicy machine (with good sounding inbuilt Alexa speaker) for $59 after cashback in Prime Day last year. (no pods)
So basically looking at a printer & cartridges sales model here
Obviously, as often discussed.
Depends on you usage, like with printers.Pods are very economical when few coffees are required. (Pods are the main expense.)
For 10 years, my mainly free Lavazza machines have quickly produced the 5 morning shots ($2.50 of pods) per week, that I require. With almost no maintenance or cleanup.Whereas a much more expensive expresso machine + all its ancillary equipment + much higher maintenance really only makes economic sense where a large number of coffees are produced (eg coffee shop).
Can easily pop up the road for an espresso.
Price match at Officeworks
Their listing doesn't show the free capsules but I'm pretty sure it's a standard thing included in the box.No. Thats just the machine, not this pack with 64 pods!
Lavazza sell as machine only or pack with pods.Bought many Lavazza A Modo Mio - not bundled with pods.
Supermarkets usually sell the machine with pods. See previous DealsDifferent model
Check use by date of pods.
Found packs can sit around. Use by date is about 2 years after production. Coffee is sealed, but does deteriorate with time!I used to have both Aldi and Jolie Lavazza machine. I would buy Lavazza pods on special on Amazon (free delivery and S&S) When no specials would stick Aldi machine. Averaged out at the same price. Lavazza coffee superior IMO.
This is a great deal. Im even tempted even though I have an auto coffee machine now.
Got one, thanks
Aliexpress has Reusable Stainless Steel Coffee pod For lavazza a modo mio Machine. Use your own groud coffee with it. No need to buy Lavazza branded pods. Better for the environment, too.
There is 1 company that makes compatible pods for this machine. 192 pods for $104 ($0.54 a pod):
https://espressoland.com.au/192-coffee-capsules-a-modo-mio-c…Have tried them and they don't taste as good as the original pods but they're fine if you aren't fussy.
Costco sell these Lavazza pods. $54 for 96 capsules.
Pod machines are pretty average at best, but a cheap one is terrible. They don't do steamed milk so to emulate say a cappuccino they use milk power (yuk). Honestly I reckon coffee bags or a press are better.
