That's a lot of money for a toddlers TV.

We kept our old tv as long as possible through the toddler stages, and only upgraded when they were old enough not to throw stuff, scratch or try and push over the tv…

tv consumer is mostly your toddler.

you should really reconsider this and get them to enjoy playing instead…

When my kids were toddlers the TV had a giant tube out the back and was 4:3 ratio. The parents spent more time entertaining the kids than Hi-5 did. I guess times have changed.

Do you have a toddler at home? If you do, then you know your tv consumer is mostly your toddler. If you don't, you won't understand

I think that many of us are parents here, and we did not allow our toddlers to be the main users of the household television.

        • not all kids are same. My 5 year old is Level 2 Autist. Already does a lot better in math.. but needs improvements in some.. :)

          Everybody case is different

Just buy a cheap Falcon TV from JB. 55 inch for like $400 on special.

65 inch is probably a bit big, they will be standing in front of it very close, like front row cinema style and could damage their eyes.

If it's for your toddler, I'd spend $6k on the TV. Toddlers need to be coddled from a young age if you want them to grow up into spoiled brats.

Stop calling your toddler a "tv consumer". What is wrong with you?

Tell us you don't know how to parent without telling us.

I'd get a box-damaged or refurb Google TV from Sony Australia but they're somewhat under your budget.

    • But the toddler needs 65".

        Refurb Sony KD65X80K 65-inch $1,079; 85-inch is just under $2K

Can't tell if serious. You can get an OLED for that much. A toddler wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that and a $400 aldi tv with a fire stick or apple tv installed. This is assuming it's not the primary household tv. If it is though, I don't think you would either than lol. Spend less than that.

    • I will also be a consumer playing games or watching movies :)

Main is for my 5 year Autistic son

You sure your son is really autistic? Autism and ADHD are the most common misdiagnosed disorders in AU.

Why TF are you referring to yourself as "a consumer"?

      • This screen protector may be of interest

Marketplace tv with a googleTv/chromecast or fire tv is best for your use case. A flying lego can do too much damage to a TV. Best to save on tv and spend the money saved on activities or subscriptions to zoo, museums etc.

Big TVs are for dads, not kids.
Kids these days prefer a screen in the range 6" to 10". Even laptops are too big. Plex / Jellyfin on their tablets is good.

And toddlers, at least under 3, should be watching little or preferably nothing on screens. After that start with a little play school and reading eggs.
For toddlers, brain development depends on lots of physical interaction with the real world.

    • For toddlers, brain development depends on lots of physical interaction with the real world.

      Sounds like that's not happening.

  • I'm not going to lecture OP what should the toddlers do instead of watching TV, but still this budget looks quite beyond the need.

I'd look up on rtings.com for review.
