    should be a poll ..

    BF4 > BF1 > BF3 > BF V > BF 2042

    • +11

      BF2 above all others.
Sunk a lot of time into it back in the day.

      • +1

Same. Had 1800hrs on ranked servers and would probably have the same time on private servers.

      • +1

        BF2 > BF4 > BF 1942 > BF Vietnam > BF1 > BF3 > BF V > Every Other BF > BF 2042

      • +2

        Except for Bad Company 2.

That was basically the absolute peak, pretty much identical gunplay as BF2, better graphics, destructible buildings, modding on guns was perfect, sniper shotgun…

        Damn I miss BFBC2

    • +1

I remember spending many hours on Bad Company 2. Was so much fun

    • +1

Your order is my order too, gotta put BC2 in between BF3 and BFV though. Aside from the weird movement controls it's a great BF title.

    • This is absolutely the order - though my god I've had some fun with BF1.
And it still has a pretty active player base.

Steam - buy a game cause its cheap and never play it….

    • +2

The thrill of collecting games that you never play is quite often a lot more fun than playing the games.

      • +1

An unplayed game has unlimited potential, better to collect than to play and be disappointed.

I like using Gamejolt as you can collect a ton of free demo versions guilt free.

  • BF2042 doesn't deserve to be grouped together with the other titles.

  • +1

Are any of the bf games worth it for the campaign?

    • +5

Only played bf1 10 years ago and yeah it was quality but short. Has Australian beach landing campaign.

    • +2

I bought them recently for the same reason. Wanted to play them in order, 3's story was meh but the combat was so bad I finished my gaming session and haven't gone back to it. Don't have 4. 5 was a lot more open and enjoyable for the most part. 1 seems very polished/structured storyline and being newer had a lot better graphics too.

BC2, BF1 & Hardline all offer something interesting.

    what about BF2142

    • Yesssss classic

  • +1

any of these still have active players etc?

    • +2

BF1 has maybe 2 ocenia servers at night. BF2042 maybe 3 or 4 in the evening and some filled with bots. I brought 2042 for $7.19 on last steam deal and don't mind it for $7.19. Prefer BF1 though. My 2042 links to my EA account and goes through that launcher. Suspect the other BFs are the same.

      • What about Battlefield V playerbase? Is that just not an updated WW2 BF1?

        • Tried yesterday and the day before, and just absolutely nothing. Then switched to BF 1 and had queues for a few servers, so much healthier.

          • @MitchPatto: Awesome. I haven't played BFV in ages. Prefer BF1 oddly enough. Great gameplay imo.

    • +1

I still find active games on 2042 most of the time. Maybe not weekday mornings but it's got a player base. The other games all have mission/campaigns to make up for a lack of multiplayer. They're all worthwhile IMO. I like 2042 even though the diehard fans can't stand it.

      • +1

I think if 2042 launched in the state it's in now, it would be considered great and maybe best in the series. Most people haven't touched it in years though.

  • +1

BFV is my favourite, unfortunately no OCE servers anymore. It was the best. BF3 was incredible too.

  • I picked up most of these in the last big sale. Sadly struggled to find any local servers or players and I just gave up. Definitely temper your expectations for multiplayer.
If you're just in it for the campaigns then no problem at all.

  • +3

BF1 and BFV for solo campaign.

    BF1 and BF2042 for multiplayer.
Also, BF2042 gets a lot of hate for its bumpy launch, but it's not a bad game. Doesn't have any of the atmosphere of older BFs and feels very generic, but it's still a generic AAA game. The different vehicles, special abilities and weapon augments feel good.

They're missing one of the best - BC2

    • I noticed that. Do you know why its missing from set?

  • C'mon Hippo, you know these prices are not all time lows. Flogging off BF2042 for $7 is absurd.
Its like when group voice chat was turned on in BF3 - made you head explode :)

    Shame they've removed BBC2:

      For Steam they are?

Sales fluctuate, prices aren't always going to be ATLs. Not everyone can wait.

How could you forget Battlefield Hardline??
