I'm the same buddy. Those aldi lights are cheap for a reason. Another person in the comments had issues with them failing also.

personally I wouldn't pay over $40-50 for the AE1200/1300, they are a cheap watch (but obviously iconic). They don't seem to go on sale that often these days but good to remember they were only $20 back in the day (before every YouTube watch collector drove up demand). I got mine from AliExpress for about $30 with sales etc.

I have had mine since Dec 24. Its been amazingly useful while travelling. However, I have been condensation underneath the glass pane since last 2-3 weeks.

I had a Synoke that I bought in a bundle deal for US$1.99 and it was, frankly, rather awesome for the features it had. I gave it to a young lad who was looking for his first watch. I told him just be careful not to go swimming or in the shower with it and it oughta be fine.

The silver one actually looked very nice (I have it).
I wouldn't call this a bargain, previous posts last year were around $45.
FYI - This has a resin lens, never trust Amazon specs.
