I was able to get jb to drop the price of the phone to this exact same price last week when signing up with the gift voucher. They must have known this was coming.

You're not crazy. I recently paid $1300 for a new flagship phone which is $100 more than what I paid in 2022 for that generation's version of the phone.
I reckon it was a good deal considering equivalent Apple/Samsung flagships would have set me back at least $2000.

Yes just say you bought the phone last week and noticed it’s dropped in price can they refund the difference, they just need your receipt. I did a split payment for mine and only spent <$100 with my CC but they were happy to refund the $220 directly to it.
12 or so days ago, for the price difference to be refunding I believe it has to be within 2 weeks of purchase. I went in store, directly to the counter with my receipt and they processed my refund with issues
I'm guessing a different JB store wouldn't be able to issue the refund? I'm a long way from the store I got the phone from during the last deal

Did you ask them to price match this to get the money back? I bought the 16 Pro Max 256 using the $1400 deal and it’s still unopened since I’m waiting to claim TRS back. My dad also purchased one but has since opened his so not sure if could work?
literally just said that they have lowered the price on their website and asked if I could get the difference back. staff were very chilled about it

All chill until it came to the refund approval stage. The staff member got half-chewed out by the manager who rhetorically questioned: whether a refund would be given for an Apple product that had been opened (no).
Just FYI you can still claim TRS even if you opened the phone and used it
If it was bought within 14 days, just bring the receipt.

I understand everything but how did you have the $99 refunded through telstra? Does that mean you get first month free? I thought the $99 was a forward payment.

I paid some of it with an old 15 or 20% off ultimate GC and converted cc points to gift cards for the rest lol. Also got the $99 and $220 back.

I was a little unlucky, JBhifi offered me a really low deal before today's pricing, i got an iphone 16 pro 128GB for $1,599 yesterday.
I saw today they went down to $1577, so i went in store and asked for the difference. They refunded me $22.
I just checked online and the price has gone down again!!!!! now at $1529! Does anyone know if you can go in for a second time and ask for the price guarantee difference back?

Final cost after refund = $1344 16 Pro Max 256gb
Breakup
99 Telstra mobile plan upfront cost + 746 Upfront device cost + 767 Telstra mobile cancellation charges = 1612
Today went to the store and asked for Price match.
Got 2147 device cost - 1879 todays cost for same device = $268 as refund.
Total device cost for iPhone 16 Pro Max 256 gb = $1344
Please note,
The refund was made to my Latitude Card (opted for 12 months repayments). Was given GC option but opted for Refund to the card. So latitude card refund is also possible.
Now will try my hand at $99 refund for Telstra mobile plan upfront payment as I cancelled it within a week.

Went in store today and did the same - worked for my dad and I who both got the 16 Pro Max 256. Asked someone from the mobile team about the price drop and he asked if it was within 2 weeks (which it was) then mentioned to a colleague to write it up as a price guarantee.
The kicker is I still have original tax invoiced for $2,147 so hopefully can claim the TRS back on the original full price.
Will OW pricebeat this? If so, don't think its been this low before
