[iOS] Tinder Platinum TRY599/6mo, optionally TRY799/yr ongoing (~$24.06/6mo / ~$32.00/yr) @ Apple Türkiye via TurGame Gift Card

360

Cheeky deal of the day…

  • Create a Tinder account on a computer via browser while on a Turkish VPN (use a legitimate email and Australian phone number, they will confirm both eventually)
  • Create a Turkish Apple ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com/account (no VPN required)

Follow the onscreen steps. In the mobile number section use your Australian mobile number (Very important to use a valid number or risk losing your ID). Choose country as Turkey. Then follow through the rest to create your ID. Login into Apple ID on a browser. Go to this(appleid.apple.com) link to enter a Turkish address to your Turkish Apple ID, select payment method as none and save.

  • Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad > Your Name > Media and Purchases > Log out from your current ID and login with your Turkish Apple ID
  • Buy TL iTunes gift cards from TurGame(turgame.com) > Choose currency as TL/TRY and pay with international transaction fee free card.
  • Redeem iTunes gift cards(apple.co) by going to App Store > Account (located at right top corner) > Redeem gift cards or code
  • Login to Tinder on phone (no VPN required)
  • Purchase Platinum 6mo subscription for TRY599
  • OPTIONAL in IOS app subscriptions, update it to renew @ TRY799/1year.

No VPN is required to subscribe or ongoing - only to sign up (and must be done on a computer or it will use your mobile location rather than IP location for region).

If you get an error, contact Apple support on the Turkish account and explain the error, requesting they remove the restriction. They'll remove it and you can purchase 24 hours later. It's apparently an automated system to stop fraudulent stealing of gift cards or something, they simply remove the restriction with no questions.

App / Subscription Cost AUD
Google One 2TB (No AI) TRY204.99/mo $8.25/mo
Tinder Gold TRY149/mo ~$6/mo
Tinder Gold TRY449/6mo ~$18/6mo ($3/mo)
Tinder Gold TRY599/1yr ~$24/1yr ($2/mo)
Tinder Platinum TRY199/mo ~$8/mo
Tinder Platinum TRY599/6mo ~$24/6mo ($4/mo)
Tinder Platinum TRY799/12mo ~$32/1yr ($2.66/mo)

Weekly plans also available but they're just half the price of a monthly plan; not really worth listing.

In theory if you plan to use it long term you could instead purchase 1mo Tinder plus for for 98.99 TRY (or 1 week but from memory a month was the lowest option), then switch it to yearly platinum and renew at 799 TRY (897 TRY for a year of platinum + 1 week plus, instead of 1,200 TRY sticking with 6 month renewal)

Found that Tinder Platinum is very close in price to Plus, but has much more benefits. Thought it's worth posting. It's typically 49.99/mo in AUD minimum (price varies, it uses an algorithm).

Note: I've not tested if you can simply login to an existing account via a Turkish VPN on PC, tested using a new account. It may work on existing accounts too that have no active subscription.

p.s. I can't confirm this is still active as already have a subscription, but worked a month ago.

    • +1

(I stopped being lazy and confirmed it is by making a new account)

  • +1

Is this a Turkish tinder dating account? 😅

    • Tinder accounts aren't regional; they go by your location (or where you set with Passport)

  • +71

    Mother's Day sorted, thanks OP

    • +1

      Anytime, hope she enjoys!

    • +18

Looking forward to see her there 😉

      • Good luck, boosts aren't discounted much via Turkish iOS 😉

You'll need to use your super likes!

      • +2

Do I call you father, dad, or daddy?

        • I believe in Turkish it’s “Who’s your baba?”

    • +3

I love how this has 69 up votes currently.

    • +1

I won't give you a vote because it's currently at +69, which is perfect for your stellar comment!

      • +1

You sir, are a visionary, let's hope nobody ruins it!

      • +1

Quick, downvote it to make it go back to 69

  • +11

I clicked this for the lulz, but wtf $49.99 per month? What exactly are these "benefits?" It's sounding like chats*x and emotional validation for 50 bucks a month, with maybe one or two meet and greets with covert Tinder-contracted chicks

    • +2

It's no where near worth $49.99/mo, but I guess people must be paying for it.

For $4/mo it's okay - premium likes (you show up first above non-platinum, with anyone else with platinum who likes them), passport mode, privacy settings, filtering (via attributes they set on profile), etc. Also the standard unlimited likes and what-not.

I wouldn't say it's great, but it's worth it over Plus if you're planning to get it.

  • +1

    are deals for grindr?

    • +2

Change to iOS Turkey and check, we don't judge here xD

      • I searched online and according to AI and a Reddit post, it's banned in Türkiye, so the locals use VPN.

        • +1

Even Wikipedia, Discord, Blogspot, Wordpress, YouTube, etc are banned in Turkey. They ban everything, even IMDB is apparently banned. I'm surprised Tinder isn't.

    • +9

Funny enough, yes, it works with Grindr, i checked ;) and check my last post for one. I was going to post it, but not worth it with the hate.

      • +4

I've been looking for a discount for ages - refuse to pay the exorbitant prices for what is quite possibly the most poorly built and unstable app in history lmao

    • +1

Grindr Xtra is about AU$40/year and Scruff Pro is a rather crazy AU$4.4/year!

  • will it make you only match ppl whom also have Turkish subscription?

(seems to be a plus if that's true)

btw I have Indian YT Premium via Apple, and I purchase Indian Apple GC via Amazon India, IMO this is a lot safer, as I do trust Amazon a bit more than smaller online GC sellers.

    • No, Tinder isn't regional - it goes by your location (or where you set if using Passport Mode).

      • +2

that part was a joke —- imagine if you go on tinder with a Turkish subscription, and all your match is ALSO ppl who have Turkish subscription, it's like "Hey, what's your OzB ID, we might as well chat over there"

        • +3

lmfao basically how it'd end up

          "oh hey, you're jv?"

          • +2

@Dyl: just to be clear before our match : I am not jv, let me make sure you aren't either :)

            • +1

@OMGJL: I can guarantee I'm not JV. Just ignore the beard and hat.

If someone has OzBargain in their profile, would you swipe right or left?

    • +7

Right. I actually admire people who are bargain conscious and monitor how they spend money. Have had past partners who severely overspend.

(Jokes aside, maybe not right if they include it in their dating profile, lol… But overall I do actually think being smart with money is a plus)

    • +2

      im proposing on the spot

  • +1

For anyone that already has a paid plan for Revolut, Tinder Gold is included at no extra cost as well.

    • +1

That plan is a hell of a lot costlier than this though (was $9.99/mo) and the only other real benefit is NordVPN from memory, which is free with cashback every few months (or PureVPN as an alternative)

      • +1

Yeah, I was more so putting it out there for those that may not be aware. The main value is fee free exchange swaps (which I’ve found is sometimes cheaper than Revolut). Plus the travel insurance and rental excess waiver.

  • I’m tired of hooking up with so many guys.

    • -1

      Change to find females then?

      • +2

There are females? I thought it was all bots and desperate males

Now that dating apps have been around as the popular norm choice for the last 10-15 years there’s now enough data evidence to demonstrate and support that they’re a failure… “Online dating has created a winner take most if not all environment. It’s basically been amazing for tall, attractive, and wealthy guys, for all of the other guys it’s been a disaster, and it’s made it mildly 💩er for every woman. The digitisation of dating I believe has been a disaster, it’s been bad for women, and disastrous for men.”:

It depends what you use them for and which app.

If there was an app that analysed and matched attachment styles, among other things (to ensure the relationship is fun too), it may work. None really do that though. Some match different things, but none I know of analyse attachment styles or anything proven.

It's more just for a bit of fun to find friends imo; wouldn't use it for actually finding a partner personally. For $4/mo I find it decent entertainment still.

      • @Dyl “It’s more just for a bit of fun to find friends imo” 🤣. The fun part for many is just using dating apps for hookups, most people aren’t using dating apps to find a network of new friends with common interests to spend time with that doesn’t involve romantic experiences.

Perhaps you should actually watch the video I linked to. One of the interview speakers involved in the podcast is Logan Ury, she is a behavioural scientist and dating coach who studied at Harvard, and she works for the dating app Hinge as the director of relationship science (Hinge is regarded as one of the better dating apps too). Through the 2 and half hour video I posted there are multiple times where Logan acknowledges and admits to the failures of online dating apps and how devastating they have been for men and women in society based on data that she reviews daily.

        • Definitely many use it for that, I more use it when I’m with friends and we just muck around on there - nothing too serious.

I’ve found some chill people on there that I’ve became friends with though

      • If there was an app that worked, there would be no money in convincing desperate lonely guys that they just need to pay a bit more money to match/talk/fk the girls.

        • The issue is the more decent dating sites/apps only really match interests, they don't consider attachment styles. Similar interests provide the fun in a relationship (which is very much required), but attachment styles that go well together are also critical.

Matching interests alone only works short term, longer term you need to match attachment styles well too. If there was an app that employed therapists and also provided relationship therapy it would likely be profitable and successful. Not something I'd personally use, but it would likely work better than anything available currently. They could make a ton out of ongoing therapy sessions and actually help users build solid relationships. Not sure how I feel about the idea of relationship therapy being subscription based via an app though lol

Note this isn't a new idea, ie found a reddit thread that suggested it 2 years ago, just doesn't seem to exist yet

    • +3

for all of the other guys it’s been a disaster

As I switch on my PC for a night of gaming.

    • +2

Yep I've seen a good explanation as to why it's not working for either sex.

For men, they hardly get any matches because all the women only swipe right on the top 5% of guys (or at least the top 5% in relation to their market value), so the top 5% of men have bulk options and have no real incentive to just pick one as they've got 20 more "hot" girls ready to go next, the bottom 95% of men just get disenfranchised with the whole thing and just swipe right on everyone.

For women, they have the illusion of having infinite options as they basically just have unlimited matches, but most of them they don't consider good enough and those that do meet their standards (top 5%~} are more than happy to meet up and run one through them a couple of times, but they rarely hang around for the longer term as they themselves have so many girls lining up for them. So women end up being like "where are all the good men?!?!" After being on this roundabout for 12 months+…

I am glad I got through the dating market before it became this way I think.

      • +2

Me too, life was so much more fun when you met people in the real world. I have had 2 experiences of online dating. One was a lady who might as well have arrived with a checklist clipped to a board. The other well, im pretty sure it was back in 2008 ish

We were chatting for 3 weeks or so and she seemed quite normal. On Anzac day she said do i want to come over to hers. I drove to her place which was near Manly, I lived in Sydney back then. When i arrived at her unit and knocked on the door it was not locked and opened.

I shouted hello and walked in, once i got to the lounge i found her, paralytic drunk, in her undies lying on the couch. She saw me and managed to stand up, she then said "fk me" and at the same time urinated all over herself and collapsed on the floor.

I managed to get her to the bathroom, cleaned her up a bit and got her onto her bed then wrote her a note saying "You are lucky im an honest guy as i could have really taken advantage of this situation and please get some help"

She had stuff all over her house any other person could have stolen. I left and locked the door behind me.

You would think that was the end of it but she kept messaging me asking me to meet her after!

I guess some men would have taken advantage of her but I am not like that. That was the end of my Internet dating days.

        (100% true story!!)

hannah fry had a look at it about a decade ago. interesting the men aren't judgy at all, the ladies on the other hand….

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m5XGd-B4No

which was surprising, as previously it was thought that men were more harsh judges, but the statistics showed the opposite.

  • Original post was partly a joke but I'll add to it as I find actually decent subscription prices btw

    Nice deal

  • Finished? Mine shows 4999.99 try for 6 months

    • Odd, is this on iOS?

I can’t recheck as already subscribed

      • Yes, I checked on my iPad. I have another app subscribed through the Turkish iOS.

        • Try signing up via a laptop web browser with Turkish vpn, I think that’s how I signed up.

When I use a browser it only offers Turkish pricing. Note there’s also an annual option for 799 TRY

          https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/438527/121307/img_0464…

        • Confirmed you need to sign up on a computer browser using a Turkish VPN, will update guide.

Once this is done your account is 'Turkish' forever and you receive Turkish pricing on iOS then

          • @Dyl: Thanks, will try this tonight.

            • +1

@noodlefan: Just to clarify, you don't need a VPN after sign up - purchasing on iOS with no VPN works fine and using the app after purchasing works perfectly fine. It's only for the sign up process and must be on a computer (it uses location data on mobile browsers; not IP location).

              • @Dyl: Ok, so it only works for a new profile?

  • Show us your Sujuk!

  • Would Indian account work?

    • Hope not, otherwise would have to swipe endlessly.

    • It costs more last I checked, haven’t tried for a while though

      Turkey is insanely cheap

For those who have Android, I have been doing this with just a VPN for the past 12 months, getting keys off sites like kinguin ect.

there has been a recent change, not important for everyone, but until my last renewal with them, I was on 5 superlikes a day. It has only just changed to 2 superlikes a week. On the off chance anyone else is in Melbourne, has anyone else had a recent change in your subscription inclusions?

    • 3 super likes a week, near Melbourne

I’ve used keys prior but randomly got logged out, then when I logged back in the platinum was gone. Tried reenetering the key and it said invalid. Had 4-5 months left on it.

      • Interesting, I'm on tinder gold and get two a week. Up until last month it was 5 a day lmao.

  • Tinder doesn't work

    • It’s decent entertainment, wouldn’t put much hopes on getting much more than a laugh out of it though

    • It works for someone… the shareholders.

If it worked for the users, it wouldn't make money and would have to be shut down.

  • I wish the government can give us subscription rebates on the portion of time we are unconscious

  • FWIW, the regular price varies partially based on your age.

I checked my app now and Tinder Gold is $61 per month.

    Yikes!

    • +1

Tinder price depends on factors like location (swiping location or historical swiping location), usage history, region (payment region), age, past subscriptions, etc. I think that's why a new account via a VPN is required because it BOTH sets your swiping location to Turkey (at first) AND your payment region to Turkey.

I've not tried setting age >30 (usual age people mention is around 28-30 it changes) to test if the same pricing still applies using this method, can confirm you need to create a new account in Turkey though (ie via a VPN on laptop so it can't see actual location and goes via IP). I couldn't get it to work on an existing account (my account was already Turkish when I signed up - tried using a standard card payment on laptop to get regional pricing; didn't work)

  • Just noticed there's a 1 week option, so you could in theory purchase a week (or a month I think was minimum on app?), then switch it in app store to yearly subscription if you want it longer term. Yearly is 799 TRY/year instead of 1,200 via 6 month renewals.

They also randomly throw up a 50% off offer for new accounts at times, but I couldn't get this to work - I had to wait for it to expire (took an hour) then sign up at regular price.

  • I had the free version, then got the gold version about 3 years ago and no luck over a 6-month period.
I logged into my computer and set a macro to automatically swipe right every 5 seconds and nothing, theory was it maximises my matches and I can unmatch from there, so there was nothing to lose.
Now I'm a fairly above average guy, with real life charisma and all that so meeting people in real life was quite easy, but obviously so many people use online dating now that you can't stay competitive without it.

I then decided to upgrade to platinum, next day, 30 matches, next week I had 6 'bedroom dates' and kept at it for multiple months.
Back then, it was worth the upgrade, and I'd highly recommend it.

I have no opinion on how it is currently or if anything has changed at all.
    Best of luck.

If you're not in the top 5~% of males, at a guess, you'll need this, pay to win model, seems like you get displayed a lot more.

    • Platinum has priority likes, so you appear first (alongside any other platinum users) when they open their app to swipe. Considering the majority of users are likely free users and have limited swipes, those users likely never get to the gold members that have swiped on them. (It puts anyone that has swiped on them first when they're swiping, but platinum users in front of anyone, then anyone else in random order and/or some kind of algorithmic order (there's allegedly a ranking system but idk, none of that information is public)).

I don't personally use it for anything beyond a bit of fun though to throw out really cringey pickup lines for a laugh, a laugh isn't worth the retail price of it though. $2.66/mo is a lot better pricing for that. Can get a lot better entertainment than Tinder for $49.99/mo lol

  • Registered a new account and can only see the TRY 1999.99 for 6 months offer (Gold). Not the best price, but appreciate the Genie's approach.

    • Did you register on computer with a Turkish vpn active?

If not it detects your region via location data and gives different pricing, even on mobile web browsers (doesn’t matter if vpn is active).

Tinder has some weird pricing algorithm that’s a little unpredictable, but it worked with my testing using NordVPN turkey to sign up, <30 years of age (apparently they sometimes use age based pricing, unsure if it applies to turkey)
