Oral-B iO Series 6 Duo Electric Toothbrush - Black Onyx And Light Rose

Individual price for the iO6 is normally around $200-220 (we all know the $529 RRP is bullshit).
Amazon Germany seems to have the duo pack for $330.

Duo pack contains one charger. The standard Oral B charger you may already have will work.

iO series vs Pro:
* Cleans teeth differently with a new motor that is also quieter. See below for other new features.
* Unlike the Pro, the basic teeth cleaning function is the same on all iO models, so the difference is the new modes and tech features (both somewhat gimmicky to most).
* Harder to clean the actual toothbrush and will develop mould between head and handle if not cleaned and dried properly after use.
* Replacement heads are expensive at $10 each (when half price), or go down the Temu rabbit hole if you wish.

Comparison between iO models here but essentially each model adds the following features and generally one additional mode (whitening, tongue cleaning, etc):
* iO2
* iO3: slightly quieter, better pressure sensor indicator
* iO4
* iO5: small display, zone tracking
* iO6: larger display
* iO7: magnetic charger w/ quicker charging
* iO8: colour display
* iO9-10: individual tooth tracking

Anecdotally, some people said their teeth felt cleaner with the iO or were ambivalent about the difference. The negative feedback generally related to the two points mentioned above, not about the actual teeth cleaning.

The iOs I saw in store (Colesworth, Chemist Warehouse) all mentioned a 180 money back guarantee on the box. I don’t know if this one does.

Edit to add: those in NSW, only Casula and Marsden Park have stock in store. Same price.

This is part of Mother's Day deals for 2025.

    Never thought so much could be written about toothbrush ☺
    I might have to try out on someone's spare head and see what all this fuss is about.

      I’m sure someone would love loaning out their spare $10 head.

  • insane how they can release a whole new line of product for a minor upgrade lol

    I have used both iO3 and Pro 2500x.

    The difference in my honest opinion are night and day.

    The iO vibrates more gently and makes your teeth more refreshed and clean after use, using the Pro feels like it’s hammering my teeth and the vibration is somewhat inconsistent. price wise it’s pricier but it’s not like buying a new brush head every week.

    It’s true that iO have lots of gunk build up after a while compared to the Pro or anything that’s using the regular non iO brush heads.

    However after using the iO I wouldn’t go back to use the Pro lineup.

    It’s an overall more pleasant experience however that’s just my 2 cents.

    • Good to know as I’m upgrading from the 2500X. I’ve always used it on the weaker mode and only learnt this week that it’s actually meant to be for gum care.

    So how does this stack against philips sonicare toothbrushes, has anyone made a switch and can share?

      Just YouTube or google and you’ll find plenty of comparisons.

    Just an FYI to anyone who may be interested in the more refined iO series but do not want to waste money on gimmicks:

    The iO3 cleans just as well as the iO10.
    If you want to save money and just have the quieter, more refined motor without paying for unnecessary extras, this is the one to get.

    The iO4 to 10 just add features to make it easier to teach yourself to brush your teeth correctly.
    E.g. tracking how long you spend in each part of your mouth, with more expensive models having more precise location tracking.
    You can save hundreds of dollars by timing it yourself separately.

    Other than that, there are a few additional brushing modes that are a bit gimmicky.
    I imagine most people would just stick with the standard mode or the sensitive mode (same as standard, but slightly weaker).
    These 2 modes are available in all models.

    There's also a better battery display (some with small, some with large displays, some even have colour displays!) to track how much power is left in the toothbrush, but that can be mitigated by just remembering to charge your brush, like you would with the older models that never had a battery indicator.

      Was actually planning to buy the iO3 for $99 as I couldn’t find anything cheaper after a few weeks of searching. Just happened to stumble across this Costco deal today.
      Those <$50 Woolies deals from last year seem like they were a one off clearance. 🥲

      • Got one for $68 ish just now with the amazon prime sale and the perth coupon code on another post, if you haven't bought the iO6 yet.

        • Nice! Not from Perth but thanks anyway. :)

  • Wait, no AI?

    • Yes…its got ai thru bluetooth on app
