QFF 5k Short of Qantas Points Club

Hi fellow Oz'B crew,

Turns out I need to earn 5626 QFF points to requalify for the Qantas Points Club by the 30th of June.

I've two (2) credit cards which disperse their points on the 2nd and 5th of each month respectively so my latest statements have been issued.
Looks like my main CC will earn about 2.8k in QFF towards the current statement and the other CC I have rarely gets used and is adjoined to the home loan.
If my basic maths serves me well, I'll need to up my spending by 2.8k but may miss the cut off to earn points towards the club due to their date of dispersal.

Is there a simple way I can add a chunk of these points such as buying fully a refundable airline ticket or something similar?
I have read of this hack here some time ago but haven't used it nor do I know if its still a viable option.

My last resort could be buying the missing points directly from Qantas, once I know how many I will be short this time next month; https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/my-account/point…

If anyone reading this waffle has any advice they'd like to share, Id be most appreciative :)

    Qantas Wine

    • Thanks for the suggestion, how long do the points take to land after purchasing wine?

I guess I could always stack the purchase with the $50 voucher they gave me to bring the price down.
Not really a drinker or know much about wine so I may struggle to choose which deal.

Idk everyone recommends it as best way to get the pts required in this situation so Godspeed
Plus can always HODL the wine for some sort of thoughtless gift etc

It's a terrible idea. Points transfers from another person does not count towards Points Club.

Have a look at the Qantas Wine with Bonus Points promo
Handy link is here for you https://wine.qantas.com/c/browse-products?BonusPoints=1

    Qantas Wine is easiest.

There is also this Sniip deal - if you do it soon then QFF points should arrive in time

Qantas wine is a horrible way to overpay for alcohol.

Red Energy is an easy 15k, Everyday Rewards also has good offers regularly.

Check out which Gift Cards Woolworths is selling this week that have 20X rewards points. Find ones that are valid at shops you regularly buy from. Buy $500 worth of them (will net you 10,000 EDR points which converts to 5000 Qantas points).
Usually credit to your rewards account within a couple of days and will auto transfer to Qantas if that's how your account is set up.

Go to Expedia, hotels.com, or booking.com and book a stay in a high-end hotel more than six months away. Make sure it is "pay now," but cancel for a full refund just before your stay.

Or the 20x Reward Points on gift cards at Woolies is good.

Set up a Square account for your online hobby and process a transaction with your credit card. You will be paid the following day minus the fees, which are about 2%. This doesn't tie up money and is very easy. A friend needed to spend a few grand to get the credit card sign up bonus and was running short on time so processed a payment. No need to refund or reverse a sale, just accept the 2% cost ($100).

Prepay private health insurance. My parents’ PHI is ~$3K every six months. I pay six months of their PHI in advance. I get the points and they give me the cash to pay off my CC. They are with Bupa who accept Amex, no surcharge. I’m with ahm who do not, which is why I pay my folks’ PHI in advance instead of my own. I also do things like top up my Opal card to the maximum amount possible, as I use it regularly anyways. The things we do for free Qantas Club 🤣😂!

Woolworth's coming 20x gift card is the quickest way
or if you visit WW/BigW/EG often go to Qantas market to buy some Wish gift card that gives you 3pts per $1. 3 qantas pts = 6 Everyday points which roughly equals 3% rewards.
Combining this and that and some Woolworth booster items it should not be difficult to get 6k points in 2 months
