More like $9.35 off? Have always thought that the cashback is calculated with the GST price removed.

anyone have experience with antler brand? specially this Juno

    • +4

We do a few overseas trips each year, and this has held up far better than american tourister soft bags if that helps you. The interior quality is a big step up too.

      • thanks , is the wheel rubberised?

      • How about the weight? As I can see the smallest one is 2.6 kg. Not sure that is bit heavier or lighter in terms of size compare other brand.

        • I have softcase carry on I got from Aldi, which i can consider it light. it's weight 2.2kg

          It's there on the site:

          Juno Expandable Carry-On Luggage
          Measurement: 35 x 56 x 25.5 cm
          Weight: 2.6 kg
          Maximum volume: 45 L
          Packing capacity: 42 L

          Juno Medium Suitcase
          Measurement: 46 x 68 x 28.5 cm
          Weight: 3.6 kg
          Packing capacity: 73 L

          Juno Large Suitcase
          Measurement: 53 x 79 x 33 cm
          Weight: 4.4 kg
          Packing capacity: 115 L

          • @settings: Small 2.6kg + Large 4.4kg = 7kg

            I have soft suitcases
            Small - Samsonite 72H 1.9kg
            Large - Antler Softstrip 2.6kg
            Total = 4.5kg. A saving of 2.5kg

        • It’s heavier but by less than a kilo. Significantly more durable though

We have this luggage. The bags themselves were sturdy and held up great. Unfortunately, the rubber on the wheels started to wear out and fall apart.

      • +1

You can get the wheel rubber replacements for a few $ from AliExpress. Unknown quality.

      • +1

Have four of these bags (original non-expandable version, large size), and had the exact same issue with the wheels.

Antler eventually sent me a bag of 12 or so new wheels for free that they apparently managed to find in their warehouse, after at first saying they would replace the whole bag/s because they didn't have replacement wheels for them.

Bags themselves have done quite a few trips over almost 10 years and are still going strong - plenty of scratches and scuffs, but no problems.

        • +1

how was the warranty process with Antler?

          • @trarob: It was a while ago so can't recall 109%, but I think somewhat slow and a bit confused. But got a decent result in the end.

    • I've been using my Juno set for years. I was sad when they discontinued them a few years ago, but they seem to have brought them back.

They have been on numerous international trips and have held up amazingly, much better than other brands other family members have, I rate them very highly.

    • +1

Since May 2023 their warranty is "Lifetime" (Purchases May 2013 is 10 years).
This might come in handy as their older bags were prone to the roller wheels failing (the tread would wear through and fall off), not sure if this happens on their newer suitcases.

    • Weekly trip Melbourne to Sydney with the carry on for over two years and still going strong

    • +5

Yeah - I lost two wheels in the first two trips and Antler refused to honour any warranty. "Wheels are not warranty items" - I've never lost a wheel on any luggage in hundreds of flights before.

Paid out of pocket for the repairs. Will never buy another Antler product.

    • I have Antler Juno and they have been great. Durable and the bag itself is well laid out. Had for about 5 years but only 4 or 5 trips.

Have also the Antler Clifton and I'm equally happy.

  • +1

Their polycarbonate ones are probably better, despite being a little bit heavier. Those ones are on 40% discount as well

    • +1

Unfortunately, the polycarbonate ones scratch a lot more. These are much more flexible, and scratches are not that visible, especially if you get the darker colours.

      • +1

        Do scratches matter on luggage?

        • Depends on personal opinion. I think if you are planning to keep it for many years, it does start to look a bit worn out.

      • I agree. I’ve got both and I personally would go for polypropylene if weight wasn’t too much of an issue. I’ve noticed that polycarbonate ones are super thin likely resulting in a comparable strength. Polypropylene is super flexible.

  • im not an expert but just my past experience having bought antlers luggage in the past. Aesthetic wise they look good but dont last very long, broken wheels, zip and tore under 1 year.. but this could also because of frequent flying, terrible luggage handling by the airport. But yeah its annoying when youre in another country/state and have to look for a replacement.
This is one I bought in 2020 and still strong, scratch here and there as expected, heres the link https://www.amazon.com.au/SHOWKOO-Luggage-Expandable-Durable…

    • i just put my ordered and saw your post :( . and it also similar in price

      • well in that case, I hope youre happy with your purchase. Hopefully you wont experience what I had experienced :)

    • +1
      • that looks more durable, but I think those are heavier. Unfortunately I have not use them before so I cant really say the actual quality of that specific model

        • +1

Have had these for over 8 years now and have travelled extensively globally across Asia, Europe and America. We have the full set (1 large, 1 medium and 2 carry ons). Yes, the rubber on the wheels started peeling off after a few years but got them replaced for free as part of the warranty. Similarly replaced couple of broken handles for free as well as recent as this year. So overall a great buy. I assume if the zippers break, they will be replaced as well.

          Highly recommend.

          • +1

@mx123: Thank you for the replies. We needed two sets so I bought one of each :)

    • Do they nest? The picture and description don’t give definitive information.

  • +2

I have the same series a few years back and I use them a few times a year.

Mine has held up well and I bought another as I needed an extra. For me they are a good deal if you can get them on a discount.

  • took me some time to think about it and now blue is gone lol. thus ordered the black one. thanks op!

  • Would 4.6kg be considered heavy for a large suitcase?

    • Probably about average or slightly lighter than average

  • This is polypropylene which is weaker but less rigid than polycarbonate (generally best for hard luggage).

Also more vulnerable to cracks, less durable over time. Compresses more when stacked so you have fragile items that’s something to consider.

These do nest though and looks like there is a lifetime warranty.

Sidenote: It’s seems impossible to find good looking, quality luggage that nests these days. Outside of the “premium” brands like Away & Monos there’s hardly any options. Away isn’t even available in Australia any more.

    • +2

I can confirm lifetime warranty is real and accessible, unlike some smaller, lesser-known brands on Amazon, see my comment above! Also, I would question the concern about cracking and durability. I have used these pretty rough over the last 8 years and has not had any issues regarding quality.

  • +6

It's same price if you buy 3 separately,
Good if you need specific one.

  • Recently travel on multi leg budget and weight restriction was a great concern for me so l start looking into the weight of carry on luggage. Looks most are at 2.X kg. Only real budget and light option is one Samsonite model at outlet goes for about A$2XX @ 2kg. The only real lightweight option is Samsonite Cosmolite @ 1.7kg not available in outlet and cos an arm and leg even on sale!

Consider most airline very straight on cabin luggage these days, we need some innovation on luggage material and fast.

    • I have had the Soft Samsonite 72H (55cm) carry on 1.9kg since 2016. Been to many countries and still going strong.

  • +5

Just a heads up - Antler's lifetime warranty only covers manufacturing defects. Most damage happens during airline baggage handling, not manufacturing. In those cases, it's often up to the company whether they'll honour the warranty. The best way to judge is by reading real user experiences.

I recently spent an unhealthy amount of time researching luggage and ended up buying the Antler Icon Stripe myself. Here's what I found:

    • Polycarbonate hard shells are generally tougher than polypropylene (which the Juno range uses).
    • Wheel quality matters — they're usually the first thing to break. I noticed on the website and in-store that models like the Heritage Stripe, Icon Stripe, and Stamford 2.0 use branded Hinomoto wheels, which are known for reliability.
    • The Juno and cheaper models don't have branded wheels. Up close, they look less sealed or protected. I'm not sure if that's a sign of poor quality, but if they were Hinomoto, Antler would probably advertise it.

    Wheel photos from Antler:
Hinomoto wheels from the Icon Stripe
Unbranded wheels from the Single Stripe

That being said, it seems like a decent deal at this price.

    • They've curiously scrubbed all references to them being Hinomoto from the product page of the Icon Stripe though. You can catch the brand name in the short video clip, but it's been edited off the close up image where they advertise the wheels.

I recently ended up with Icon Stipe luggage as well, and they are indeed Hinomoto. Just curious that they hide it, when it's clearly advertised for Stamford 2.0.
