Ozito PXC 18V Twin Sander Kit 2.5Ah (PRMK-250) $89 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass) @ Bunnings

950

Due to the recent #OzitoPosting from Revheadgl - I started poking around to see if anything else was good on sale.

Found this kit $10 cheaper than last time

Detail sander alone is $42.90 and the random orbital is $64.90 so basically you are saving $18 and getting a free battery and charger.

I asked my neighbour if he had any sandpaper I could pinch. He said he only had 800 grit.

I told him that is fine.

hah. take ur comment upvote and get out.

    • +27

      Of coarse he did

    • +5

At least it's not coarse humor, just medium……Will see myself out:)

    • +7

If he only had 80 grit, that would have be rough.

    • +2

Shows true grit, Sorry couldn't help myself.

I don't get the joke and now I feel left out..

      • +2

He supposedly used sandpaper to rough up one side the ball in attempt to make it swing while in the air.

        • Left or right? That's one way to liven things up when settled into the slips catching stance..

      • Sandpaper can be “rough” or “fine” or somewhere in between

Nice one Jimbo, that's a great deal. I absolutely do not need this but I have empty Ozito packout cases that need filling.

    • where do u get cases from

      • Ozito did a modular ‘pack out’ case , but looks like it’s not on website anymore… weird

  • +2

Good find. I expired that deal as it was no longer showing up on Bunnings site..

  • +1

This would be ok to upcycle a chest of drawers?

    • +8

dont see why not, just need patience and ensure you have eye protection and as good a dust mask as you can practically afford.

      • +2

On that I have tried both protection glasses and mask. The combination doesn't work together as instantly the glasses were covered by moisture from breath. Any suggestions? Cheers

low key i just go with safety squint a few times before..really shouldnt. I tried swim goggles too before, kind of worked alright.

        • +1

I have found the PROCHOICE FSPG mask/goggle combo to work pretty well. Not very expensive. $40-$50 depending on where you buy them from. Comes with 3 x P2 masks.

Although I have yet to buy new replacement masks, they are about $35 for a pack of 10.

I have both of these, bought separately from OzB deals and reckon they’re great. Should do that job easy, go for it 👍

I have the ROS and have used it to prep plenty of melamine panels etc for painting. And melamine is a lot harder finish than your usual household and furniture paints. Does it very easily.

Used both for repainting my window frame last month as the paint peeling off after years bearing rain & sunlight. Both worked very well. Also, bought some cheap additional craftright sand papers which works fine with them. Just be aware that the battery space for detail sander is limited so I can't fit in my 3ah or 4ah ozito battery in.

    • +7

Guessing you must have the older model detail sander? As the new on will take a 4.0AH battery. The older model definitely could only fit a 2.0AH or perhaps a 2.5AH.

      • Dang! I have the older model. Probably not a real justification to buy another set. The only real pain with the detail sander is the lack of speed control.

        • +2

I just use a multitool for detail sanding. I don't do a lot of it, but I figure it's just a smaller version, most likely slower to get the job done though. And it has speed control

      • +1

Now I am thinking it is justified that I buy the newer version lol

        • +4

may as well - it will be good for the economy *

disclaimer: may not be good for the economy

orbital sander is pretty good, but the detail sander is meh.

  • +2

Have being thinking of getting these, thanks OP !!

  • Thanks OP was planning on grabbing the orbital for an upcoming job around the house so grabbed this instead.

What disks fit the detail sander though, all the ozito pads they have on bunnings site don't seem to be for this model?

  • any deals on drills or impact drivers. about to bite the bullet and go RRP

    • Not right now short of marked down returned or aged stock which varies store by store

  • +1

Bought it from the last deal, the dust collector that comes with this fit my corded circular saw which didn't have one. Can get rid of my makeshift collector I had.

  • Any hacks or tricks for sandpaper that works with something similar?
I got a Milwaukee one from a previous deal and just wondering besides the official ones, can I buy alternative and cut to size?

    • +1

Don’t see why not as long as it can fit and lock in

  • +1

Newbie question - can i sand my deck eith the orbital?

    • +1

I would suggest no. It would take forever. If it's a quite small deck a belt sander, or if larger, hire a floor sander from Bunnings, Kennards etc. You will still need a small detail sander to do the edges and corners though.

      • +5

I kind of what them to try, maybe do a fun little time lapse that also maps their decent into madness.

        • +1

That made me laugh out loud, I now have picture in my head of someone flipping out and throwing their tools across the yard and screaming obscenities while tearing their hair out in chunks. All on camera. Well done sir:)

I should imagine it somewhat akin to scrubbing your entire bathroom with a toothbrush.

  • I assume it's too small to sand the wooden outdoor part of the house? Just got a new old house and want to get rid of the paint layer and repaint in different color…any suggestion?

    • +1

Yeah … but I mean anything is possible for a few extra batteries and a lot of time haha

    • Is it faster and more effective way by using paint remover?

      • Not sure if they are safe to use on woods, I probably need to consult a professional XD thanks

  • Would these be fine for eves?
How do they compare to the ryobi version as I don't have ozito kit

  • Would this be good for redoing the peeling clearcoat on an old car?

    • Please no

  • i have been collecting ryobi's but haven't got the sanders. would these be a decent quality/value buy vs buying ryobis new?
