Ryobi 18V ONE+ 125mm Random Orbital Sander 2.0Ah Kit $49 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass) @ Bunnings

3520

Apparently there are few left here and there, so try using the stock checker below, you may be lucky.

This a fantastic deal. Sander on its own is $119 and battery is $85.

This pricing reminds of what Ryobi prices used to be 15+ years ago:)

Good amount of stock around at the time of posting, with not too many stores nil stock. I would expect these to sell out pretty quickly though. https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/0637798

    that is a good deal, but I don't need a sander :(

    • +31

Yeah but what about when you do need one?

    • +1

Yes you do. Check your car for swirls? If so, you need this to sand that paint and polish …. :)

      • +1

Can you attach polisher pad to this if you only want to polish and not sanding? Or is it too strong?

        • +1

          I don't know but maybe?

I got myself a 1200W 7 inch polisher from FB marketplace for $10.

If you don't need it much, might be a better buy.

I'm in the same boat but i do need a battery for the inverter i want to buy

  • +1

    this or Ozito?

  • Who can stop me from placing an order? I am Ozito.

    • +10

      Hi Ozito

    • +3

There is a great Ozito sander deal still current, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/904737

      Maybe that will help:)

      • Should i buy this ryobi deal or ozitio deal for $89? Can anyone suggest?

        • +1

Depends. Do you already have Ozito or Ryobi batteries? If so, stick with whatever brand you have.

If you have both, I would go the Ozito as you get 2 sanders in the kit. And having owned and used both the Ryobi and the Ozito Random orbital sanders, I personally prefer the Ozito. It has variable speed and it vibrates less.

        • +1

Just used my Ozito orbital sander for the forst time today. Seemed to work pretty well, though I haven't used a sander for years, so not much to compare it to. Sanded down a bedside table and used up nearly 3 fully charged 4Ah batteries to do so.

Either kit will likely need more batteries for anything more than very minor jobs - and Ozito wins in that regard for their way more affordable batteries.

Wanting to get a Ryobi nail gun (no, I'm evidently not a tradie - ha ha) as theirs are way better than the Ozito options according to the reviews - but the batteries are an arm and a leg on their own.

Will need a converter to use my Ozito batteries or might get a drill kit and sell the drill skin as it seems they are the only reasonably-priced option with a decent sized battery (hammer drill + 4Ah battery and charger is $149 - same price as battery and charger alone, or dual kit with impact driver as well is $199). Just, you know, talking out loud here in case anyone wants to get into the Ryobi eco-system.

Get a battery adaptor and Bobs ya uncle.

  • Damn, great deal thanks.

  • bought!

  • Thx 🙏

  • I'm just a newbie doing basic stuff around the house but I got this sander from the Christmas deal and it's very solid imo

    • +2

      it's very solid

It's a good thing. In my experience liquid and gas sanders don't work well. Plasma sanders are better, though.

  • Need to sand back some railings before painting so this will do nicely. Thanks

  • Needed a sander and this is a great find. Thanks op.

  • +5

Done, Onepass free delivery, boo ya. Good find @revheadgl

  • +9

Everyone suddenly 'needing' a sander. Don't forget to post updates of your project ;)

    • +16

      Don't judge people

We're going to make so much sand with this tool

    • +1

A random orbital sander is always needed. People have only been waiting for the right deal. I would definitely buy this if I didn't already have 2 (one corded and one cordless) and if I was invested in the Ryobi ecosystem.

      • +1

Bruh I'm just taking the piss. I want to buy this too because it's a damn good deal. But trying to save money so I'm not letting myself buy it because I already have a corded sander lol

  • +1

    You legend. Thanks bud

  • Seems to be $99.98 now…

      selling because unwanted gift.

  • Great deal!

  • +9

    Thanks I got one

    What does it do?

  • Thankyou! I have wanted a decent sander that doesn’t vibrate my arms off while doing nothing (ozito mouse sander)

    • +6

Let me know which ozito mouse. I've been looking for a decent vibrator that doesn't sand.

  • Can you use this on plaster board? Assuming just timber?

  • Thanks op, purchased one.
I'm wondering if I can attach a wool pad to the sander and wax my car.

    • I'm also looking for same

    • No, absolutely impossible! Coincidentally, I can take it off your hands for $35 inc. delivery just to help you out… ;)

(seriously, also interested whether it can buff as well as sand)

  • +7

Powerpass price isn't any cheaper for those wondering.

  • Fuark bought one a few months ago and never used.

    Any hacks to return ?

    • +1

Should be able to just return it no worries if you have the receipt still.

  • +1

Don’t need the sander yet but I have been looking for a 2Ah battery on FB Marketplace and they’re usually $40 used, $60 new. So this is a free tool, if you’re already after the battery!

    • Yep this was my reasoning i always see the tools with no batteries so i jumped on this

      • Wish I had too!

  • No stock in Canberra

    • There was when I posted. I would expect these will sell out very quickly. Gungahlin still showing stock, but I would call before ordering.

    • No pubes in Canberra

    • I got mine from belconnen (last one). According to gunghalin, Canberra airport has got 2 in stock. Give a call.

  • +5

Ordered 66 to use the batteries for a power farm ro compete with musk.

  • Thanks OP! :)

  • +1

Not bad considering the tool itself, skin only, is $119

  • Ordered, now what to use the sander for…

Random Orbital Sander 2.0Ah Kit $49

I thought they only came in green ?

  • Wow nice, I use this to sand my three giant decks and now the wife can join in until my existing one dies!

Tried hiring a big sander from bunnings but it didn't like my old timber and nails lol

    • +1

Wow nice, I use this to sand my three giant decks

      The ones in Aukland ?

  • +2

Have this, best to have a bigger battery. This goes through the 2.5h within 15min

    • :o

    • Agreed, I went through all of my batteries (approx 8+1 large) sanding back approx 40m² of decking. I really wanted the 'Ryobi 18V ONE+ 4Ah Triple Battery Kit' for $229 but couldn't justify the large purchase at the time. Hopefully they bring back that deal another time because $199 for 2 suuuuuuuuuucks

  • +1

Garage starting to look like lime green 🍋‍🟩

  • I already have ryobi polisher. Can that be used as sander with a sanding pad?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-125mm-random-orbit…

  • Thanks OP. I'll find something to sand.

  • +3

Wow great price considering brand name AND battery. I paid more than this a few years ago for the Ozito skin only :( .

My tip would be to buy an intermediate hook-and-loop pad to use on the mount. Wear out and/or melt the hooks on these sacrificial pads than the actual unit. e.g.

(this is my link from years ago, probably cheaper elsewhere now?)

  • Got one thanks OP

  • If I'm doing a few chairs, I assume the palm sander is what I want? Knobbly chairs

  • Showing as $99

  • +3

No idea what I'm going to do with one, but everyone seems so excited about it.. so I bought one..

    • Join the club mate :D

  • got one, thanks

  • Thanks op
Click and collect ready email came 2 mins after ordering. That onepass express click and collect isn't mucking around.

  • Nice. Do have a need for one, so ordered one. My nearest store ran out as I was placing the order, so switched to another store.

Doubt this deal will be around much longer.

  • No stock ACT.

    • +3
