Credit to triple675's deal from March.

I'm assuming the same note applies: the price for some remote areas will be $36 ($32.40 with S&S), but the checkout will then state this item cannot be delivered to those areas.

    Isn't it cheaper at Costco?

    • +1

      No

    • +1

      Is it ever? Generally not.

      • Costco generally cheaper for the larger items. But when selling the same size it's not.

So 20kg sugar, flour, etc yes.

But things like pizza sauce in a 3 pack is usually cheaper to buy on sale at Colesworth

        • Yes you can get 20kg of sugar a tiny bit cheaper, at the expensive of having to store and maintain that product for years.

Thats not really cheaper as most products outside of things like sugar likely go stale first.

  • thanks OP, grab one :-)

  • Thanks OP!

I got offered an additional 5% for subscribe & save - came to $20.40

  • Just clicked on it and it shows as $36 even though I'm in the suburbs :(

  • I'm not in a remote area but getting the $36 / $32.40 price at checkout :(

  • It's back to RRP

Amazon need to hold more stock if they want to seriously compete with teh supermarkets.
Often sell out quickly and then take ages to re-stock

    • -2

Compete? Amazon already won the supermarkets hands down. Their stock sold out within minutes and they have EVERYTHING that supermarket don't!

    • +1

Nobody wants to actually offer the discounted product advertised if they can avoid it.

Supermarkets legally have to have sufficient quantity when they advertise a deal. Amazon does not so they can pull the bait and switch as much as they like and there is no incentive to improve.

    • I don't think Amazon care about grocery. I can imagine their margins are almost zero, if not zero.

  • Pro tip for next time. Just add the item to the cart even if you haven't decided. I did and the price held up @ $21.60 S&S at checkout even thought the offer expired and item is back to full price.

    • Nope, I had it in the cart and when it was still on special, upon check out few minutes later, it showed full price.

  • back to full price
