Yeah we have the model above this and it's a bit gutless, definitely doesn't like wet / damp grass.
But it does the job for a small lawn, and the battery alone is worth a good chunk of that price.
Bought one at Christmas and sold the battery and charger for $100 (excess to my needs).
I wouldn't probably recommend it for anything bigger than a townhouse yard.
At $199 for a town house yard, it's perfect.
It's a bit gutless, sure, but the size makes it easy to manoeuvre and store, and the price is great.
Summer is a breeze, damp lawn does need an unblocking every bit or so.
Theres some guy on youtube who reviews a bunch of these electric mowers.
Tldr 18v is quite poor for anything that doesnt get trimmed regularly and is a small area to cover, basically a 10x10 yard, the area estimates they give are very very optimal circumstances.
I got a 36v ozito for $450 i think, steel deck, was a decent purchase, still stuggles with a 30x18 yard
Agreed, I have the dual 18v, it does the job but struggles at times, from what I hear the 36 is much better.
Isnt dual 18V effectively 36V? Or does it not work that way?
I am not sure, from my basic understanding, if the batteries (two 18v 4ah) are in series connection it would be 36v 4ah, but if they are in in parallel connection they would be 18v 8ah. I think ozitow does series connection to make 2 18v into 36v.
Nah, I have the 36v and I wish I got another petrol mower. It just doesn't have the guts to cut through thick grass (buffalo) and I find that sometimes I need to mow it on the highest setting and then lower it and re-mow it on a lower setting. If the grass is slightly damp where my old petrol would power through, this one just clogs up. and it's not even worth trying. Maybe if you have thin light grass it might be ok. The battery is ok for my front yard of about 60-70 square metres but luckily I replaced the backyard with artificial grass as I don't think it could do both on one charge/
Thanks OP. Bought yesterday and mowed. Easily did our small lawn and nature strip. Grass was a bit damp but still didn’t struggle
Wish Sydney price would drop too
NSW Bunnings didn't match the price
Pretty average mower (I bought one as my weekender in summer 2024) but paid lots more. Its my weekly regret - You get what you pay for. That being said, for $199 it's a steal, thanks OP - For context, I live in a typical suburban home, back and front mow needed.
