If OP did just a little research he wil see basically there is one brand of decent drone in this earth. And then check the price range on ozb.

Make sure you’ve got cupboard space to put it in after you get bored of it.

    • yeah, I sold mine as soon as I got bored as I didn't have cupboard space…. lol

    • Indeed. Or maybe even space in the shed…

2nd hand DJI drones. Should find a good one well within your price range. If it becomes a serious hobby, then go up from there.

Once you get it be sure to come back and post the pictures of your neighbour's wife sunbathing.

    • FTFY
Once you get it be sure to come back and post the pictures of your neighbour's wife sunbathing, and hubby shooting the drone down..

      • And afp knocking the door

        • The afp will come and storm the house with the counter terrorism taskforce, not for the drone, but for the unlicensed rifle.

  • Be mindful of rules around flying drones.

You are not allowed to fly within 30m of another person or in populous areas. So that rules out most suburban and urban areas to fly them. Your only good options are empty fields, out bush, etc.

  • DJI Neo or DJI Flip as beginner drones. The built in prop guards will give you confidence until you decide you've outgrown the need for them
