This is the real deal here.

      • Has been low $30 range previously too, which I didn't buy lol

Does MGS2 on switch still run worse than the PS2 version?

    • The Vita version was okay in the day from memory, never finished it but played a good few hours. Surely it can't be worse on Switch than Vita.

      • +1

Vita version was pretty good, no complaints.

I'm sure switch version is at least equal.

        • +2

It is not equal. Switch MGS2 runs at 30fps. Vita runs at 60.

          • @Snakey Chook: Ouch.. How the h*ll does that happen?

            • +1

@Circly: Lazy optimisation (or closer to lack thereof).

MGS 2 on PS Vita also didn't run 60fps throughout, just mainly small indoor areas. More open areas ran at 30fps.

Still no excuse for why the game is capped to 30fps on Switch, when it could manage 60fps cap all the way on the PS3/Xbox 360.

Amazing how expensive this is, and has remained since launch, on all platforms. It's not even an impressive remaster.

(I bought it, big fan, but gotta be honest.)

Same with quite a few of the "remasters" Nintendo has been pushing.

I will say the Paper Mario ones have been great.

Suikoden the contrast backgrounds felt way too sharp and jarring to me, but apparently they've patched it and it's much better.

Tactics ogre I don't really enjoy the weird overly sharp borders and portraits but I think you can turn it off.

      • Nintendo have nothing to do with any of the remasters you've mentioned other than Paper Mario.

  • Metal Gear V: Phantom Pain on PS4 is my favorite.

  • This was like $30 at the start of the year

  • such a scam price lol apparently its not good 'remasters'
