    • +2

      "expensifve"

      Expansive.

  • +1

Got a second movie ticket instead lol

    • Now you don't have to watch the movie alone :)

      • Yeah, Now i can take both my boys to watch next marvel movie

    • Where are movies vouchers available? Couldn’t see anything on app

  • on the image it says $39 start kit for free

    • Wow our Foxshot system has picked up another deal!

      Image

      • I just got the free sim

        • I ordered too, but it looks like they disabled it now.

  • When do you have to activate this by?

    • 7 July 2025

      • Is this only for the bonus data? You lose that but can still activate it after July 7th?
I wanted to use it in August when my boost runs out

        • Yeah. You won’t get the bonus data but otherwise it has long expiry date.

          • @mkbsd: Yep got confirmed by support and bought with 1 min to go. Hopefully can then get a good boost deal to port back again. 🙃

          • +1

@mkbsd: @Tommohalby From my experience last week, when you activate months later, if there are any bonus data, you get the current one that is offered. The expired offer won't apply but the current offer applies even though you purchased the SIM earlier.

    • +1

By the sim expiry date, last time I got one it had almost 2 years expiry on it.

      • Oh wow thats crazy

  • Why can’t I use my Telstra Plus points? It says, "The promo code APPSIM45 doesn't seem to be valid or has expired"

    • +1

@hamza23 I can't see where I can use my points to redeem. Have to pay $99.

      • +1

        Let me check it out.

    • +1

My bad, I have removed it now. For some reason no points on this item. Usually it asks you at checkout.

      • And it looks like there aren’t any cashback options either?

        • +1

None on the common cashback sites.

      • +1

I've tried redeeming points in the past for their Sim packs. Seems like they don't accept partial points redemption so unless you have enough points that's worth $99 you probably can't use any

  • +8

$99 for 6 months on Telstra is cheap. Boost is selling 12 months for $255, or ~$200 with cashback.

Does anyone know typically how long before these sims expire? Might even get 2 if it has long expiry date.

    • +1

I just found the purchase email, last Telstra sim card order was 28/1/25 and the expiry on that sim card is 2/12/26. So 23 months or so in my solo experience.

      • Thanks bought 2. Don’t have to do cashback dance for boost for a year.

        • Did u switch between phone cariers on casheewards / shopback

    • +1

Agree but boost is proving unlimited international calls where as, this deal only 3000 min for zone 1.. etc . If your priority is international calls then it’s better to go with boost sim

  • If activated after July 7, do you only get the 70gb? Or can you not activate at all after July 7

    • +1

You can activate it anytime before the sim expiry date. If you activate it after July 7 you will get 70GB + whatever any new offer is.

      • Probably better. Can only see bonus data going up.

  • How do we get telstra id?

  • -1

I got free $39 sim with code: APPSIMKIT

    • Does it still work for you? Discussed here but code is saying expired or invalid.

      • I tried the second time and it didn't work

  • I think in the past these 6 month Telstra SIMs I’ve been able to activate as mobile broadband only for 12 months. Anyone know if still the case?

    • +1

I found this on the old $160 plan, which this $180 plan replaces, so it would likely be the case but I can't verify.

  • I think the code has been expired?

    • Still working here.

  • Is this compatible with esim?

    • Physical SIM only.

  • +1

    Thanks, got 2.

  • Possible to move over from Boost to this? Or do I need to churn to eg optus first? I couldn't find anything in the t+cs.

    • +1

Yes you can. I used Telstra $2 SIM to port out from Boost and port back in. That was back in October for 3 of my Boost services.

    • Should be ok but sometimes you need to chat to support.

      Usually less than 5 mins

Getting error Sorry, we are unable process your order online. For assistance, please visit a Telstra store
For help placing an order, please bring the following documents to your local Telstra store:
Your Australian driver’s licence or Australian passport,
Two other forms of ID, such as a Medicare card, a credit card or birth certificate,
Your proof of address (your lease agreement or purchase of land contract).

    • hrm same…

    • Yeah same
Did you have to manually input the address?

    • Was ordering this for my mother under her account and details and got the same. Logged in as me and used my details but her name and it worked fine. Pretty odd!

    • Had the same problem, and have seen same in the past when doing from the phone browser and AMEX.
Just tried from laptop and with Mastercard, all same details. Went through fine.

    • Got the same error message. It worked on the 5th attempt but had to use a family member's details and changed payment card. I tried with my details, typed address in manually, changed card, used PC and phone but didn't work. I haven't bought any items from the Telstra store in a long time.

Thanks @hamza23 for this offer. Missed out on the free $39 SIM but probably can't get it anyway due to error message on checking out.

    • ZIP pay, same error
Change to CBA debit card, it worked

    • Got same error, after logged In with my Telstra account worked for me

  • Worked just now. Thx

  • Is this a good deal? Just moved to belong and now can port back to Telstra .

  • Any issues with using this in a Telstra USB modem for data only?

  • I can't see any of these deals in the My Telstra app.

    • Neither and haven't got any of the other deals. I'm not lucky enough 🙃

    • +1

      To both hothed and tommohalby.
deal banners are placed at a weird place just above stories in the app.
also, to avail this deal, in the app click shop at the bottom, search for this kit and apply the promo code.

      • Yeah I've seen a picture of it up from another person. It never shows up for me.

    • It seems to be randomly targeted and haven't received most of the deals posted here (long time Telstra customer). The bird chats but doesn't pop up with the deals.

  • Thank you

  • +1

Anyone know if it stacks like id buy 2 for 12 months start the first then request the second kit to be added as extension?

  • I think it just ended.

  • Still able to use code. I just clicked on the link above, didn't even need to use the app or sign into my TelstraID.

    • I managed to submit the order 3 min before it expired. I had to change my email address for whatever reason :-)

  • $16.50/m for 25gb. Speed is capped at 150Mbps. Not bad. I would've purchased if I wasn't already with Boost for a year.

  • +1

What's the thinking behind a really short/limited deal like this? I really needed it but now feel rather irritated with Telstra that I missed out.
