Hey Oz Bargain Community,

Keeping this one short and sweet for you…well there's still a little paragraph, but it's super succinct compared to my last post!

As promised, the time has finally arrived for the launch of our next featured rotating Single Origin. Drum roll please…It's an Ethiopia Sidamo Single Origin. I believe it's the fruitiest coffee I've ever worked with from an aroma development perspective (even the aroma development in the first week after roasting is outstanding) and complexity of fruity flavours, it's the first time I've ever ranked a coffee a "1" on our "Fruit 1 to Chocolate 10 Flavour Scale." To give you an idea of the intensity of this clean, fruity coffee, it's the lightest roast I've ever done and even a bit lighter that our recent super hit Mexico Single Origin. Now a bit about more about the coffee. The Sidamo region is world famous for their vibrant, fruity, delicious coffees. This wonderful coffee should be next inline for an Ambassadorship for the Sidamo region; it's an incredibly delicious, super clean fruit bomb, every sip is akin to enjoying a refreshing, freshly squeezed juice in a tropical rainforest. If you were a fan of our Mexico Single Origin, this one should absolutely knock your socks off. Due to the lighter roast profile I've created for this specific coffee and it's vibrant fruity flavour it's best suited for black coffees. As such, in this deal we're also featuring our much loved Moments to Memories blend, which is delicious for both black and milk based coffees :)

We're offering you a super 40% discount off our newly launched, wildly fruity and incredibly aromatic featured rotating Single Origin from the famous Sidamo region of Ethiopia and our much loved, chocolatey, Moments to Memories Blend, more info below

  • Thank you, order placed.

    • Wonderful @TheB thank you so much!

I hope you love this coffee as much as I do :)

  • I love Ethiopian beans. Super fruity profiles. Personally I still use them in milk based drinks too, don’t hate it till your try it! Guji region is my favorite. I’ll try this to compare!
    .

    • Absolute music to my ears, fantastic to know you're a fan of fruity Ethiopians and thank you so much for the terrific order!

We do recommend this one for black coffees, just because the unique flavours may get a bit lost if too much milk is added. However, the flavours of this Ethiopian don't clash with milk, as some super fruity coffees do. Fingers crossed you love this amazing Single Origin from Ethiopia :)

    • Same here, my fav milk beans are Ethiopian.

      • Terrific!!!

  • +1

Ordered .. again. My normal beans now. Quality and service is second to none. I have got all my family onto it too Thanks for the ongoing great deals!

    • Outstanding!!!

Thank you so much for another fantastic order, your wonderful spruiking skills to help spread the word and your uplifting, complimentary vote of confidence :)

I promise we'll keep working hard to stay in your good books!

  • +1

Can anyone comment if better than AirJo?

    • -1

      Similar.

    • +1

      The price is better.

    • +2

I only tried the Brazil São Paulo Single Origin, and found it noticeably lighter than the Airjo Sumatra. To match the same intensity, I ended up buying Aldi’s Dark Roast beans and mixing them 50/50 with the Brazil beans.

    • +6

I vastly prefer LBC over AirJo. I was disappointed by AirJo as they only offer medium to dark roasted blends. They are good for milk based coffees but not great for black coffees. I've had milk based coffees from Aldi Medium roast beans that tasted just as good as AirJo. In my opinion LBC tastes better (more interesting flavours because they aren't as darkly roasted + single origins) and is cheaper.

    • +1

I've tried the Mexican single origin, much better than AirJo. AirJo is a pretty typical dark blend, I'd expect all the single origins here to be better.

    • Similar price with slightly better quality, delayed despatch and rotating beans. Would only order from AirJo again if I really liked their beans.

    • Better. I felt like the the multiple orders of beans I’ve gotten from Airjo were a bit stale or lacked depth

    • Better.

  • As it’s a lighter roast how does it go for V60?

    • I like lighter roasts for pour-overs and filter coffees. I think you will have a good experience with it, too.

    • Hey @MrBr0 it works an absolute treat for V60 Pour Over :)

      • Sold!! Ordering some for V60 thank you

        • Woohoo that's music to know ears, thank you so much for the terrific order!!!

  • Anyone know where to get a good deal on organic decaf?

    • Hey @skysurfer our Swiss Water Process Decaf is Organic, it's not currently on special, so perhaps you could get a small bag at regular price to tie you over :)

  • Loved the Mexico, super keen for this.

    • +1

WooHoo, you've got great taste haha of course a totally unbiased comment!

It's fantastic to know you "loved" our Mexico, so I think you'll hopefully adore this Ethiopia Single Origin, thank you so much for another terrific order, happy brewing :)

  • Do you offer grinds as well or is it beans only?

    • Hey @jshopper always better to ask than wonder!

At present we exclusively send overs out in whole beans form. It may be the perfect opportunity for you to take the plunge and get a grinder, as it should improve your coffee experience ten fold. We currently have the Fellow Opus Grinder on special and I'm sure there'll be some other bargains online :)

  • Are these 100% arabica?

    • Yes, 100% :)

      • both right? the blend and ethiopian

        • I'll see you and raise you one…both and also every other coffee we roast…at present we exclusively roast 100% Arabica coffee. You can see the varietals listed on each product page :)

  • Excited to try this one

    • Wonderful!

Thank you so much for the order, it really is appreciated and I truly hope you love this special coffee :)

  • Please just make free shipping for orders $63 or more…..?

    • +1

      Never hurts to ask :)

If it was finically viable to do so we would, it just unfortunately isn't at present. Even at the $69 threshold we make a loss on some orders, so it'd just be too risky to lower it!

  • For the pedants and computer programmers (I'm both)…

FREE SHIPPING for orders over $69

"exactly $69" == "unlocks FREE shipping"

    Hmmm…
I'm still enjoying the Brazil beans, by the way :)
I can confirm ordering "exactly $69" gets free shipping. Now I'm looking forward to both the Ethiopian and the M2M blend. Thanks.

    • haha love it!

Thank you so much for putting us through our paces with that fantastic combo order, really appreciate your continued support and I've got my fingers crossed you love these ones as much or even more than our Brazil :)

  • Might have to give the natural process another go.

I tend to gravitate towards washed processes for my V60.

    • Sounds like a terrific plan!

Thank you so much in advance :)

Out of curiosity and so I may be of more help, why to you tend to lean towards washed for V60? Have you have really winey, heavy bodied naturals in the past and prefer a lighter, crisp cup?

  • Thanks OP.

Trying above (1Kg) for the first time and other than AirJo. Let's see where its at.

    • Amazing, thank you so much for placing your first terrific order with us, it's truly appreciated and an opportunity I promise we won't take for granted!!!

  • Just tried your order editing feature to replace a kilo of a blend in my next order with a kilo of this, looks like it all worked, well done on the tech!

    • +1

WOOHOO for tech doing what it's meant to, very happy our set up is a winning one for you!!!

Thank you so much for the original and now new addition to your order, it really does mean a lot :)

  • G'day Lime Blue. I'll be in Moorabbin on the weekend. What times of the week are you guys available for click and collect?

    • Hey @pevo01 appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

Generally speaking orders can be picked up Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. I do usually work weekends as there's always something to do (in a good way, not a complaining way haha), but the security doors won't be open. You can always email in advance and try your luck with a weekend C&C request :)

  • Very keen to try this Ethiopian. Thanks for the offer

    • How wonderful to hear, it sure is a special one!

Very happy this deal's a winner for you, thank you so much for the order :)

  • Just how light would you say this "lighter roast profile" is, vs a typical medium roast?

The reason I ask is that my Bambino Plus machine can struggle with light roasts - resulting in unpleasant sourness - due to the fact that it doesn't allow me to adjust (increase) the brew temperature.

    • @LimeBlueCoffee - could you please let me know if this is anywhere near a typical light roast, or is it more a lighter medium?

      Thanks

      • Hey @FiXXXeR always better safe than sorry, so I'm glad you've checked first!

Hmmm it's a little hard to answer specifically as don't have the technical data for the coffee you're trying to compare light or medium roast to. It's an omni light, not a filter only light roast. If you've had any of our coffees before it's the lightest profile we've released. My understanding is the Bambino goes to 94 degrees c. Generally for the very lightest roast out there you wouldn't really need to go above 96 degrees c. Although that 2 degrees would make a difference it should be the different between delicious and wildly sour/underextracted. This makes me think something else may be awry. Have you checked the group temp with an external/independent thermometer and what recipe are you using for the single walled double cup basket e.g. how much dose in, yield out and contact time?

        • Temps I assume would be fine / as expected as the machine + my grinder (Sculptor 064s) produces very good coffee most of the time. I like to think I'm pretty adept at dialling in all sorts of beans (via adjusting ratio & brew time) too. But I have tried some light roasts - probably "filter light" - in the past that have been a challenge, and can only make them drinkable by extending the ratio and grinding courser to be a quicker shot with less body (almost like a turbo shot).

Well I do like beans with a fruity profile, so am tempted to take a risk on these!

          • @FiXXXeR: The machine may be perfect, but it never hurts to double check the temp is on point just in case!

I'm sure you've got your system down pat. As I'm sure you'd appreciate different coffees have different densities and thus brew ratios can vary a bit. We always put our recommended brew guides on our bags. I've found the best results from your specific machine come from a 16 gram dose in the single walled double shot basket, if you're trying a different dose, I'd recommend giving the 16 gram dose a shot to compare.

Terrific to know you like fruity coffee profiles, the balls in your court whether the risk is worth the potential reward of a delicious coffee :)

  • do you guys ever do a PNG so gle origin?

    • We have featured coffees from PNG in the past and I'm sure we will again some time in the future :)

Do you normally enjoy Washed or Natural coffees from PNG?

      • Normally washed.

  • What about for 500g? Thanks

    • Hey @punkterfuge always better to ask than wonder!

Yes, we sure do have 500g bags as an option, feel free to fire off your order/s when suits :)
