I've been eyeing this particular listing for a few days now. It's a whole hundred dollars cheaper than other 9800x3d listings on AliExpress. I'm confused, because it's sold 4000 plus units in the past month, and it's a silver badged shop, with some kind of verification mark, whatever that's worth. But it only has like 200 followers and the shop set up in January 2025. There is also another listing in their store for the exact same cpu, but last time I checked, it was for $1100. I can't help but be cautious with this one which is why I held off buying this.

But if they're scammy, they should have been removed by now. Hoping someone can provide some insight into this.

The product thumbnail has a special Big Save banner and you see the below in place of the usual store link. It's the Super Deals equivalent for Big Save where the price is reduced even lower for a limited quantity. AFAIK these kind of discounts are AliExpress funded.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess being desensitised to promotional techniques over the decades made me miss a legit detail.

Same, whilst i do have a good experience buying cheaper CPUs from aliexpress, dunno if i’d be willing to risk no warranty on an almost $1000 cpu, just to save like $70. Would rather just hodl a bit longer.

    • Not sure if it interests anyone but I pulled the trigger on the 7800x3d deal from the same seller. the reviews on the sellers homepage are very 50/50 but it seems they should refund if it's faulty or fake as AliExpress states this. Happy to update anyone interested once it arrives and I've tested it.

Bah, the $70 coupon code doesn't work anymore. Sad. It was still usable yesterday (or the day before).

    • I dont think it worked on Big Save products like this. Otherwise this would’ve been sold out

      • I'm pretty sure it did. I just checked my history, and I found it on Monday. Between then and yesterday, I would've tried to apply any and all coupons. Those coupons are good for removing GST. There was also the cashback with 50 dollar cap for one of the usuals, but I couldn't bring myself to buy it because it felt sketchy.

Anyone know how good the integrated graphics are with this? Thinking of building a PC soon, but kind of want to wait on a GPU? Or should i just wait for one of those BYO GPU deals?

Anyone know how good the integrated graphics are with this?

Good for running a terminal. You won't be gaming on it unless you consider Solitaire gaming.

      • Thanks for the heads up, guess ill have to rethink my options

These are for light gaming https://www.pccasegear.com/products/64812/amd-ryzen-7-8700g-…

but it will perform worse compared to a standard CPU when its paired with another discere graphics card so I think its better to just wait.

I recommend not buying from Aliexpress and also not buying any of the X3Ds currently its all price gouged.
