PS: the official Ozito PXC USB Adapter is $19.98 at Bunnings but does slower charging speed and no LED Light.

    • +5

Those at Bunnings are kind of rubbish, as they lack PD, which is the standard for USB charging. I had to hack mine, replacing the guts, so it can charge my laptop.

The above is much better. The 12V out is a nice bonus, e.g. great for running LED strips when camping.

  • +2

I guess it charges faster, so it's a bit better than the one Bunnings sell
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-usb-power-source-p…

Combine with a 4ah battery and you have a 20,000mah powerbank

    • Damn nice invention

    • +8

Combine with a 4ah battery and you have a 2̶0̶,̶0̶0̶0̶m̶a̶h̶ 72Wh powerbank. Without knowing a nominal voltage, mAh is a useless stat and I wish companies selling energy storage products would stop using it. Watt hour is a much more meaningful and useful way of measuring stored energy.

      • Yes. It used to be useful when USB was pretty much 5V and nothing else. Now you just have to assume that whatever they're advertising it at is the absolute best case output at 5V and you're going to have to work out what you'll get at 9, 15 or 20V for yourself.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will inform the league of powerbank manufacturers, which as the chairman my words should carry a lot of weight.

        • Give my best to Costanza.

Open / look at it ..
Then you will likely be offered one of these as a Bundle deal that is an emergency car jump starter with 2. USB ports. $8
I went with a Makita version..

Keep an eye on how much tax they add on checkout. It's a mystery…

Also, Ali promo codes don't work on bundles …
Summary - car jump starter/ USB battery adapter somewhere around $11

  • I bought this slightly different one for USD6 in March: https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005007728836665.html

    • As low as US$3.99 in bundle deals.

      • Are these bad or others sell for more

        • Bundle deals is just a cheaper way of getting stuff if you're wanting to buy a few things.

          • @Clear: They should still make money unless it's a loss

          • @Clear: Need to be careful. I bought 2 identical items.

1 as a bundle, listed cheaper.

But the "gst" added was something like 23%, and the "cheaper" bundle offer actually cost more.

Now this gets worse when bundle items aren't eligible for promo code discounts.

There are some good bundle deals, but they are never as cheap as they seem..and again, might cost more than a normal item.

              • @battler: No idea how you can do anything about it … couldn't find anywhere to report it (web based).

    • Got mine for a similar price. Works well.

How many more ozito posts can we get on the front page? Come on guys, lets make this ozitobargain!

    • Its ozapplebargain recently.

But this is not a deal by ozito lol.

the "12V" output on the side is strange. when it is initially turned on, it produces 5V (4.7V). if you press the button to turn on the light, then it starts producing 12V. if you turn off the light, then it drops back to 5V after a short period. so it appears that you need the light on to produce 12V. i don't have the instructions any more. maybe there is some logic to it

also, it gets reasonable warm just charging my phone at 15W. according to my thermal camera, one IC is sitting at 60C. i didn't test the 12V under load. don't know what the long term reliability is going to be like

    • That's pretty annoying if so. IMO portable 12V outputs are more useful application for tool battery adapters. There are plenty of good mature USB power banks and what not already if that's what really mattered.

I've got a few 12V devices I'd use with more that aren't near any power points.

    • Cant upvote this comment enough

    • another listing for the same item says " DC : output voltage 12V 3A (need push button or connecting with electrical load)", so maybe it automatically detects a load and switches to 12V. i will try this later on today

    • Is that IC just a triac (3 legs)?

  • Why does this exist?

    • +1

I have the Bunnings one in case of power outage so I can charge phones etc
(there's always a few charged Ozito batteries in the cupboard at any one time)

  • How do you get this price? Shows AU$19.69 and says "This product can't be shipped to your address."

  • Can't be shipped to Aus address not sure how you can get it….

  • Is this output only, or can you charge the Ozitto battery itself via USB cable/input also ?

I want an adaptor so I can charge these Ozitto tool batteries via usb C PD possibly.
