Accor Plus Red Hot Room – Price Increased Then Dropped after Booking?

Hi all,

Just wondering if any fellow Accor Plus members have experienced something like this…

I was tracking a Red Hot Room deal on the Accor app over the past few days. The price stayed the same initially. But after checking it multiple times, I noticed the price suddenly increased, just so happened it increased right before I made the booking (still discounted, but not as low as before).

I started wondering if the price change was triggered because I had checked it multiple times. I even tried signing out and back into the app to see if it would reset, but the higher price stayed the same.

After I went ahead and booked it anyway, I checked again later out of curiosity, and the price had dropped back down to the original lower rate I’d seen earlier!

Has anyone else seen this happen? Is this expected from Accor? Because it's the first time I experienced it.

Would love to know if this is just bad luck or a common thing with Red Hot Room, or other deals.

    It is how marketing and psychology work …

    Amazon does the same thing …

    I bet when you saw the price jump FOMO kicked in and you locked in the booking :/

    If you had not seen the price jump, you may have procrastinated long enough that they missed out on the sale - so they needed to prompt you ;)

    I think it's pretty common with airline tickets and hotel bookings, but since they're all have their own algorithms, you can never tell. Also you're probably not the only one booking, so other people booking and probably cancelling might've affected the prices as well.
