Just for your information everybody, if they advertise as 'synthetic' as they have done here, it will always be a blend of mineral and synthetic, they will advertise as 'full synthetic' oil when it is a full synthetic oil, it doesn't matter that much whether you purchase a full synthetic oil or not as long as it is within the specs eg '5w30' '5w40', you can check your licence plate on all the websites like autobarn supercheapauto etc etc to see if an oil will fit your car.
running 15w-40 Gulf Western and its semi-synthetic so expect oil change 5-7000kms not 10-12000kms (or 1-2000k im my case after engine flush because too much varnish from stuck open thermostat). Not many people know the w means winter, so if you live in a warm place you can use a lot of different oils, unless you have a DPF, then you a SOL and need an oil that makes minimal ash as your car lives and dies by the DPF lol

I think you implied that your engine-OIL-system use a thermostat & its function is similar to thermostat use in cars' cooling-system? What make, model, year etc ?

Consider using a PREMIUM-brand ?W-40 on-sales/clearance. Observe the used-oil @ your nominated kms & any adverse-impact-> 'too much varnish'. Do share your findings.

Its a 'modern' synthetic, group 3/4.
This wont affect warranty. Other than those stop-start hybrids, most manuals call for a grade either direction of oem as being fine. (Do double check, anyway).
