I want to book tickets tonight for mission impossible with my cinebuzz membership and it came up with $10 "retro screening" ticket discount. Not sure if it's a glitch but get in quick if it is

Same price if you pre-book karate kid: legends

Got VMAX for $15 using the same method

  • Any way to avoid booking fee?

    • Unfortunately not…

      • 🥲 my tightarse is finding it difficult. But usual prices are $25 by the looks of it so 11.50 per person for two aint bad.

    • used to via Telstra, but you need one of their services

      • I've still been able to book via Telstra without an active service.

        • that's good, did u do anything special or it just worked? because i cancelled my Telstra service (still have boost) but it won't allow me, I get "Looking for tickets? You need an active Telstra service to get pre-sale or discounted tickets."

Anyway to avoid paying at all?

  • +1

    wow none in VIC?

    • +4

      Jetstar has a sale

    • Unfortunately for you, Event Cinemas currently does not operate in VIC, TAS nor the ACT.

The "equivalent" to Event Cinemas in VIC would be Village Cinemas, as that is jointly owned by Village Roadshow and the company that owns Event Cinemas. However, I cannot see any evidence of Village Cinemas offering an equivalent deal.

  • Isn't Telstra cheapest? Also Telstra had no booking Fee cheaper!

    • How much?

    • +1

Used to have no booking fee…

      • Ah

      • when did the booking fee come in for them? last time I used them (Jan or Feb) there wasn't one.

  • Was hoping $50 e-gift card for $40 is still available.

  • Date night sorted this Friday ❤️Thanks OP.

  • Our local Event (Miranda) is threadbare these days, the Hoytz is much better. It used to be the other way round.

    • The Hoyts where?

      • Cronulla. So much better, way more fresh & comfy seats.

  • is it still working?
couldn't see "retro screening" ticket discount on my account

    • shows under the ticket options when you select a session etc.

      • +2

thx, looks like it depends on different movies
I can see $10 under Thunderbolts, but no such option for Mission Impossible

        • Maybe NFT movies aren't eligible?

today our local event cinemas have $12 normal tix or 4Dx is $16 (which might be fun, but also annoying)

  • Either I'm blind but I ain't seeing this anywhere

  • Not working for Mission Impossible but did for other flicks

  • Does Event cinemas only show full screenings for the next two or three days? I wanna book tickets for Saturday but the only option showing that day is Lilo and Stitch.

    • +1

Usually you need to wait till sometime on Tuesday for further sessions to appear. Depends on the cinema.

  • "Retro screening" prices for the "original" and "vmax" tickets no longer available for Mission Impossible.

    • darn, was searching for it too.

  • Mission impossible seems to be off the list. Glad I got tickets tonight then.

  • Must be targeted. Not showing up in mine. Brisbane

  • 17% fee? Errr……..

  • Great find! Got two tickets at two different Sydney cinemas. V-MAX for $15 is also a great deal.

  • +1

    Expired, no longer available

Had tickets in cart just as they patched it, FML.

  • I remember something like this happening years back. It was maybe $7.50 then.
