I get the portability aspect of it but I can't help wonder if it's just sitting in your pocket/bag while charging, could it damage the USB port by putting to much strain on it?

    • I have the same concern so I stick with magsafe powerbank…

      • I always thought MagSafe powerbanks were overrated - but I splurged on a 10000mAh qi2 one the other day and it’s been awesome.

        • Can you share the link please

            • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Thanks, are you using it with an iPhone or Android device? Want to get it for a Samsung Galaxy S21+ but not sure if it will magnetically attach to it or not.

              • @Trishool: iPhone

I bought a mag safe case just to commit to MagSafe charging lol

                Case - $20 ish
                Qi2 charger bank $55
Qi2 car holder and charger $45
                3m usb c to usb c cable - $15
Car cigarette port adapter for usb c - $25

Was an expensive exercise for a little convenience 🤣

                android

I think might not be for you as it says:

Note:Samsung and Android without wireless charging can only use 27W USB-C wired charging.Don't support MagSafe wireless charging Samsung and Android with non-magnetic case.Don't support Qi2 15W fast charging for Samsung and Android

I really like these style of power banks and often keep them in the phone while in my pocket and have never had an issue. I imagine if push came to shove the connector on the power bank is weaker than the port on your phone. But you are right that there is a risk there, just not one I have ever had an issue with.

    • I had a powerbank in my bag and a cable that came out of it to connect to the phone in my pocket whilst overseas, after afew days, the usb connect on the cable snapped off but the phone was fine. I feel the same would happen here.

Defs, but who'd do that? Hold it or put it on a table or get a different product. It doesn't need to be plugged into the phone to be portable.

    Bit overpriced for 5000mah

    • Yeah, should be 10,000mAh.

    • Yeah - it's cool that it comes in different colours (if it matters to you anyway). Has anyone used this? I can't imagine it's too comfy to hold :/

I tried it in a store and it made no sense. Phone case interfered with it as well. Get yourself a 15cm cable and a decent regular flat powerbank you can rest on the back of your phone.

  • ergonomically would you be WAAAAAY better off with a magsafe charger?
Feels like putting a lot of stress on the USB C port.

    • somehow to the mrs, and prolly all the women I know, they prefer this to the magsafe cause their phone case are so thick, and this appears more elegant and functional.

If you are like me and worry the plug or port will get bent/damaged while charging in your pocket, consider $16.99 SHARGE Flow Mini with built in cable: https://www.amazon.com.au/Portable-Charger-5000mAh-Lightning…

    • Looks like they just released the Flow Mini 2, with 22W output / 18W input (cf 12W/12W), charging from both connectors (instead of just the cable), and a slope for easier removal of the cable. But for double the price (after coupon)! Damn…

2x Flow Mini 1 vs 1x Flow Mini 2? lol

I had one for more than a year, one day I dopped the phone with the charger and the charger USB part broke. Contacted Amazon and they refund the full amount. I have always had a full refund for all products from Amazon, great service. Back to the charger, it was handy as my phone sits in the car holder with magnet ring so I can't use magsafe charger in the car while mounted so this comes in handy, if you don't want cables dangling all over while charging in the car.

  • It's only 30%Code now, which means 38.49
