I technically scored each switch 2 for $556.8
Walked into my local JBhifi and managed obtain a price match of the HN deal through the lady manager. I just had to show some skin & flex my muscles a lil lol ;)
I paid with the 20x reward gift card that currently on at Woolies I obtained nearby after the negotiation
basically each switch 2 was matched to the HN deal $696 + 10% in JBhifi gift card ($69.60) plus return of $69.60 in EDR points (20x $696 in TCN gift card) resulting in a saving of $139.2
$696 - $139.2 = $556.80 each (down from $696) per standard switch 2
I’m happy with this deal per the non MKW switch 2 bundle
Plus $70 in rewards points for each switch 2 at WooliesI got away with this deal I guess because of the 5x switches 2 lol
Even more big brain move is to purchase under different order so you can use the 10% gift card from first order on second order haha

Cards are issued on switch 2 pickup on release date though. Will be useful for other stuff like games etc on the day

I was excited about the prospect of playing my huge library of Switch 1 games on Switch 2, imagining all the free resolution and framerate upgrades that could so easily be enable in backwards compat mode, but instead they are wanting $20 to $30 per game for an upgrade fee, while a handful of games offer free upgrades of varying usefulness.
I guess Microsoft has spoiled me with their free upgrades for their back catalog over the years.
My understanding is that most your library will play on the switch 2, but you pay to get those resolution and framerate upgrades, or some other things. Personally I think I'm satisfied not having those upgrades as long as I can play my library

An associate commented that stock outweigh orders. Seems like a common thing in Australia in all retailers. I'm gonna move my preorder over.

@Azza000: yep, this is a generic backorder message. you can call the store to see if you will get it on launch for assurance if you want!

Any purchases made after now aren’t guaranteed launch day, i’d recommend to contact the store you are buying from to make sure they can support it on launch day. Stores now have exact amounts they are receiving expected for launch so we should be able to see when you would get it

I just ordered the console and Mario Kart separately totalling $814. I used $800 gift cards (3% off with BUPA) and paid $14 balance with PayPal. The confirmation email doesn't mention the gift card and has the total paid as $14. Now I'm thinking maybe the 10% back in GC will only be for the $14 and won't include the amount paid in gift cards. Does anyone know if this is the case? I've checked T&C and there is no mention that gift cards don't count towards the 10% back.
I've also ordered last minute paid gift cards and $500 CC got confirmation Fri 23 May, 23:59 with red txt stating "Bonus 10% in Gift Cards when you spend $500 or more* Ends 11:59PM AEST 23/5/25 ".
Will see what happens at pickup if 10% back HN GC will be supplied

The legend at my local HN did it for $750. I then used the 75 back to purchase Nintendo eshop credits.
