Hey guys. Just sharing that cashback has now been increased to $10. All members that have already submitted wills and tracked at $8 will have cashback uplifted to $10 in your TopCashback accounts. Enjoy 🥰

I assume they become power of attorney and make their money there later on..?

    • There are generally add on fees with any WILL.

Solicitors charge for preparation, then want to charge to store the Will. In my case, cost $100 to access family member's original Will, to be able to act on the Will as Executor. Only an original of the Will is legal.

Public Trustees may prepare the Will free, but there are large fees if you want them to act on the Will (if you don't appoint an independent Executor, etc).

I saw a similar deal once before - sharing my experience.

I got an offer of this though my Super fund with these guys. Pretty good service and easy to navigate website but please be aware that there are fees - such as a subscription fee if you want to be able to change your will anytime, otherwise there is a different fee to make a one off adjustment if your circumstances change. There are also a bunch of add on options too, all of which attract a fee.

Obviously a lawyer would charge you too - but once you take these other fees into consideration it's not as such a good of a deal as it sounds.. certainly not 'free'

    • Does this will get lodged somewhere or just a pdf sent to us which we can then choose what to do with?

You print it off, get it signed & then store it yourself. You can upload it back to their site & store it for free, but amendments after 12 months will cost you. Instead of making amendments after 12 months you can just create a new account the next time they have their free will deal.

Surely you can get the will, print it off, cancel the subscription in the first year and it all costs nothing? That's "free".
Of course, if you want someone else to change your will after you've created it, they're going to charge you for it.

Yes, read the T&C, fees, etc & avoid the additional costs!

Wills need to be updated as conditions change.
Just prepare a new Will in a different free offer. Use the previous Will as a template. Rather than pay them to make changes.

I have no assets. So my will will say "I leave the $10 cashback to be equally divided between my children"

    • +5

Make sure to set up a watertight family trust for that $10 cashback - can’t have your children’s evil spouses walking away with unearned latte money in the settlement!

  • A new type of funeral insurance? Drip pricing is illegal but nobody will enforce it upon a death.
