    They are getting desperate.

      Absolutely.

Tangerine or binge or both 😂

      • 😂

    • fyi lots of mobile network rewards have free binge offered.

tbh it seems just normal to me for binge.

      • Also, there are a few $5 per month for a year offers for Binge going around too.

there are a few $5 per month for a year offers

          $5 a year please. 😂

tbh first it was their crappy app which would limit the wishlist (if you added too many movies you lost the ones at the end of the list) and cut off the synopsis on every content after less than 1 sentence (you couldn't tap anywhere to expand it).
then it was the difficulty in cancelling ever since they became part of "kayo", you literally had to finish the survey at the end and tap every correct button to successfully cancel.
then for me the terribleness of showing multiple new release movies as "available to watch on binge now" in the Apple TV app (which ime is very accurate), only to be told by forum users here that only thing you could watch was just the trailer. so they basically baited people into subbing by tricking the Apple TV app, for subs to only see the content as "coming soon". luckily I didn't sub. no other service I have experienced this with the Apple TV app has always been right.

I remember I had a few movies not on other places I wanted to watch but I haven't been back for around 8 months now. even with free offers I haven't been back because they really need to fix so many things that are broken.

  • Are they any good? Can someone please confirm?Looking to switch providers

    • Are they any good?

Not really… But there are worse…

    • We find them quite good. Can't recall an outage that's impacted us yet.

      • The outage would be due to NBNCo, not the ISP.

        • The outage would most likely be due to NBNCo?

    • I'm on FTTP with them for two months, so far so good. Better than 5G
Also got $20 p/m discount via Bupa

                Doubt it… but whatever…..

                Good for VOIP though…

                • @jv: I'm on 25mbps and i stream in 4K without a problem.
                  Netflix recommends min 15mbps.

                  • @Bargain4Life: So try streaming 4K whilst someone is trying to have a video meeting at the same time…

                    • @jv: That shouldn't be a problem. Microsoft states you only need 4mbps for best performance.

Microsoft states you only need 4mbps for best performance.

Which might be OK if nobody else is using your internet…

It's the upload speed that causes the problem.

                        • @jv: Your original doubt was 4K Netflix & working from home.
i just proved to you that someone can watch 4K Netflix and have a video call at the same time. The bandwidth requirements were met and there was more capacity left over.

                          • @Bargain4Life:

Your original doubt was 4K Netflix & working from home.

Correct. Doing both would be difficult with only about 6-8Mbps upload speeds when video conferencing.

                            • @jv: well, it's working well for taker312 and myself. So you don't need to doubt it :)

                              • @Bargain4Life: It's fine for a single use at a time. The issue is when trying to use it for different things simultaneously… The upload speeds are a problem.

                                • @jv: there's 3 of us in the household, we're not single using.

                                  • @Bargain4Life: Try running 3 video conference calls simultaneously then… It won't work.

    • Tangerine/More are sister companies, and both are good.

      • both use Vocus Communications network/backhaul which has its detractors eg Gamers

maybe asking them to remove CG-NAT from your IP will diminish issues

      • +1

        Good? They're terrible!

        Absolutely useless "technical support".
I ended up having to port out to get NBNCo out to fix my line despite providing Tangerine with more than enough information to flag a call out.
Once connected to the new ISP, Leaptel, it took a single call for them to prompt an NBN callout.

On top of that disgrace, despite my request for personal details to be deleted, them accepting to do this and then me having to raise a TIO complaint for them to "action" the request, my personal details were leaked 8 months later in the Tangerine data leak (ie they lied to me and the TIO).

The data leak occurred as a result of incompetence.

        • I have used More/Tangerine for years and have never had an issue like this. Once, there was a fault in the FTTC pit in my previous place. They did L2 troubleshooting with me and sent an NBN callout to fix it quickly. Now I am with More with a CBA deal, and I can't complain as I am paying $81 for 1 Gbps.

    • Maybe cheaper plans but the quality of their cyber protection is poor! Not happy coz my details got leaked in the dark web from a cyber attack last yr.

    • I lasted 6 days with them. Constant disconnects and issues. Changed ISP to Buddy Telco same day and haven't faced an issue in months.
They didn't want to provide a pro-rata refund either, but eventually got that sorted.

Looks like I'm better off sticking to the OzB favs of ABB and Superloop. Thanks all for the valuable feedback

    • They've were hacked last year https://www.canstarblue.com.au/internet/tangerine-hacked-202… so for me they are on the avoid list.

    • They are, but they just increased their prices which isn't great

          Is everybody Hubbling still?

          Albo is…

  • +2

If you plan to cancel after 3 months prior to renewal and have to do it through the Hubbl website be very mindful it is a 3 stage confirmation process unlike previous 2 stage confirmation when streammotion and you need to get an email from them subject of email should state order confirmation that shows it has been cancelled. Lots of people have been fooled, you can read it on Google reviews, product review, trustpilot etc. just a heads up.

  • only for new customers who have never been with Tangerine before? That gets my downvote!

    • +1

So if you've been with them before (and probably had your information stolen during the hack) no discount for you!

    • That gets my downvote!

Does that make it more expensive than other ISPs?
