Haier 9.5kg Front Load Washing Machine + $100 Visa eGift Card: $532 ($522 via Price Beat) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ The Good Guys

880

Needing a new washing machine ASAP and a whole bunch of Fisher & Paykel and Haier Machines on sale. A good deal, made even better by the Visa eGift Card - value of eGift Card depends on the machine you buy. The Visa deal runs on both Haier and Fisher and Paykel, so there are a bunch of reasonable options.

I think the 9.5kg Haier is the best deal of the bunch, but was not in stock at my local and I need one this weekend. Others of interest in no particular order:

I went for the 10kg Haier for $646 (after price beat and the $150 eGift card) as it was in stock, has auto dosing, has a drum light, and seems to rate well on productreviews.

Happy hunting

Edit: Just got my 10kg washer home via click and collect, definitely a trolley jobby at 60+kg. If you have stairs - pay for delivery!

Have the 9.5kg washer, it's excellent. Wish it were bigger though.

I believe the 9.5kg means dry weight limit.

    • Yeah nice good to hear, I wish it was available locally!

  • Are the two brands based on the same designs now, from same factory? Or still totally separate?

  • How do Fisher & Paykel rate for reliability etc these days? I've still got PTSD from a F&P Dish Drawer from 20+ years ago!!

    • +2

I've just moved into a newly built house with a lot of Fisher and Paykel stuff - stove top, rangehood and dish washer. It's all crap. I think they're owned by a Chinese company now. Can't wait to replace it all.

      • +4

I think they're owned by a Chinese company now.

        Well, yes, Haier.

      • +1

I agree. I am in the extract same situation. The dishwasher is horrible. The $250 dishwasher that my parents had 20 years ago removed all the coffee / tea strains in the ceramic cups but F&P could not even remove 1/3 the stains and I need to rub them manually before putting them into the dishwasher so much so I prefer hand wash

        • +2

My Bosch dishwasher couldn't remove any tea strains at all

        • +1

MY Mielie Intensive mode 70 can clear the stains, you may want to vary your setting.

        • +1

As someone with an unhealthy consumption of tea: sodium bicarbonate and boiling water is what you want for stains. It will effervesce, so don't be gung-ho about pouring in the water.

    • +2

I grew up with dish drawers and they were absolute trash.

My parents knew this and replaced them with another set when the first set died…. Like, jeez, suckers for punishment much?

They recently moved and agree that the new dishwasher there was a lot better. Only took them 20 years!

How far has Haier come these days? Or still dodgy chinese cheap brand?

Hmm waiting for some LG deals…

    • +2

Once u pay for a doggy price u get a doggy product 🍺 lot of decent chinese brand now have quality stuff, keep ur eyes open.

      • +4

That might be all well and good but we are talking about products for humans here.

    • I have the same 7.5kg front load Haier washer as someone below and also a fridge from them both purchased in the last 12 months. Obviously early days so i can't really talk to longevity as yet but can't fault either product at all so far.

    • I’ve had a Haier washer for about 3 years (HWI-75AW2) and don’t have any complaints. Since day one it’s been a bit funny with the door lock (thinks it’s not closed) but opening/closing resolves it and it’s never gotten any worse.

    • I’ve had a Haier 7.5kg washing machine for the last 3 years and it’s been great. No frills but washes well and hasn’t given us (3 adult sharehouse) any issues.

I have a friend who’s had the same model for about 4 years and had the same experience.

    • Haier is always much better quality than Korean brands. LG = dead in 2 years

      • -1

wow, what makes you think that?

      • +2

My mum still uses her 20 year old LG

        • -1

          Life must be good.

      • +1

Haier is always much better quality than Korean brands. LG = dead in 2 years

Not sure where you got that from but from my personal experience LG is leagues ahead. Sold my LG top loader after 8 years of use on Gumtree in working order because I bought another LG front loader from this deal in 2018 for $380, which is still going strong after 7 years.

        • +1

My lg is 12 now, and survived a house move.

    • Are you still live in 10 years ago :)

Haier bought Fisher & Paykel many years ago to secure their direct drive patents. Both brands come from same factory in China and near identical internals.

Bought the Haier 7.5kg direct drive front loader. Pulled off the back cover 'Fisher & Paykel' branded motor. Many thanks to the salesman at Good Guys for pointing it out. The Haier branded unit was $200 cheaper than the same Fisher & Paykel model.

Haier fridge and dryer added to house.

    • Wow - interesting to know - do they share the customer service? I have F&P and gotta give it to them, I called them on a Sunday 3pm and they had someone out on the Monday to fix the dishwasher. It was $150 if it was my fault, free if it was theirs. Simple enough model.

      • Yes, they are the same company and support team. From their website:

    • Thats interesting. Thought F&P used LGs direct drive technology

    • I thought these newer models were belt driven. I can't find direct drive mentioned anywhere and they usually mention it as a selling point.

Going by the specs, it looks like this would stack nicely with the OzBargains favourite Esatto heat pump dryer. Same width on both, and the dryer is slightly less deep than this machine.

  • Are the EOFY deals going to get better, or is this top tier now?

I'm building a new home and need to buy all new whitegoods shortly (PCI is in late June)

  • Thanks OP, excellent price. Time to upgrade for me.

Reminder to use gift cards if they're available to you (4.5% discount through AGL rewards which I used, I think 2.5% through shopback, etc).

If your local good guys store doesn't have stock, call the 1300 number at the top of the screen and they will knock about $10-$20 off delivery as well. I purchased the gift card for the exact amount while I was on the phone to the sales guy…

Appliances Online will also price match the cost + delivery if you'd prefer to use them, or want someone to take away your old machine for free.

I've had the Haier 8.5 in black for a good 2 years now with no issues. I'm super happy with it and when I bought my house recently I ended up buying the corresponding dryer to stack on top, and a upgraded my tiny Haier fridge (now a drink fridge when we have guests) for the same brand French door just for good measure.

I love my "dodgy" Chinese made appliances, they are yet to let me down.

  • Just got my 10kg washer home via click and collect, definitely a trolley jobby at 60+kg. If you have stairs - pay for delivery!

  • -7

They have always been the same company. Fisher & Paykel brought out the Haier brand so they could compete with the other cheaper brands that were starting to appear.

  • Any sales on Bosch Front Load Washing Machine?
    Not a fan of Haier.

  • +1

For those who have the 9.5kg Haier front-loader…is the drum large enough to fit a king size duvet?

Also, has anyone come from a top loader to front loader and can comment on the like for like size difference?

I'm coming from a 6.5kg top loader, but the drum size of the front loader seems smaller. I know the clothes don't need to be fully submerged like they do in a top loader so that might account for it…but I don't want to get a front loader if it's practically smaller than a top loader.

    • Kg rating is not really a way to look at the actual drum capacity. The kg rating is based on what the company finally got WELS water rating approval and electric rating to get their best star rating. Most washing machine drums will have a 60 litre capacity. The real10kg and above are 80 litre drum capacity. You may stick a duvet in the smaller 60 litre drum but it will not spin and powder stains if using as the wash and rinse cycle will not perform well. Best to use a laundromat or a machine with the bigger drum.

For dryers the standard dryer drum 6-9 kg capacityi is around 115-117 litre capacity whereas the true 10kg dryer ones are about 145 lts.

These are all related to front load washers and dryers.

  • This one doesn't seem to have hot water inlet. Wouldn't this to be expensive to run when washing in Hot water?

    • +1

Hard to answer that question, but it's generally a lot more efficient at heating it's own water vs a machine that has a seperate hot water inlet.

      • Will be keen to know, who owns this have noticed any difference

  • Just bought this 3 days ago, wonder if Appliances Online would refund the difference. Anyone might know?

    • No harm in asking.

  • +1

Nice find. Will purchase through Appliances online as free delivery & also seem to offer 4lt laundry detergent as well as $100 gift card.

  • Have 3 of these washers and 2 haier fridges, quality is good, very quiet. My tenants use them heavily, and they hold up well.

  • whats the choice review on this one?

  • Time to replace our old Electrolux then!

  • +2

Btw the whole kilogram models have the auto dosing laundry liquid where as the half kilo models don't.

    • Thanks!
I'm just wondering if the $244 price difference (9.5kg vs 10kg) is worth it for the auto-dosing feature. Never had auto-dosing before.

      • I think I will be able to decide the type of fabric, load, and how soiled they are better than the machine. Of course, the added convenience is not filling in washing liquid before every load. Is it worth $244? varies from person to person, in my opinion.

        • It also has UV sanitising.

  • Ebay has $50 off using code SSNOW from the Good Guys eBay store. Not sure if that will allow for the bonus $100 evisa card.

    • Can't see the option for pick up on ebay. Would have been great to maximise the savings by using the ebay discount code and do pick up.

  • +1

$531 with free premium delivery from Bing Lee. Appliances Online will match this and throw in their 4L bonus laundry liquid too

    • Is there a code to use for free delivery? Its showing $59 for me

    • So how to match with appliance online. Just call and they give you link online to pay. I have nab goodies offer expiring today, but it says online only.

      • you can try chat on thier website

        • I have tried price matching with Appliances Online but they are included $59 delivery fees. TGG seems better with price beat.

          • @mystershopper23: Appliances online include delivery charges in the final prices.

            • @karma25: For some reason, the chat agent is saying they can price match with $59 dollar included in that 532+59 as the final price.

              • @mystershopper23: Chatted with Bing Lee, they waived off delivery fees.

              • @mystershopper23: Also, is there anything we can stack on if buying from appliance online….gift card, cashback etc…

              • @mystershopper23: Yeah, I had this trouble last night. The best I could get Appliances Online is to get $581.

                • @Will146: managed to get AO to bring it down with delivery for $531. Just realized, can't do delivery for 2 more weeks, for gift card i guess as long as we pay tonight we should be okay. correct?

                  • @s0805: I set delivery from AO for mid June as have to still my old machine. The T&C's says purchases by 31st May & must be redeemed by 31st July so should be all good. Well done for getting it for $531.

  • Those who have it, can u pls confirm does it have 'Delay' function. Can't find answer online clearly. some says its only available by using app/wifi connection which is hit and miss for some…

    • I went in store and it didn't seem like there was a delay function on the display.

    • +1

The whole kg models have delay function with the app (which is annoying to use). I'm not sure about the half kg models but I think they do too.

      • Thanks both.

  • Rang up my local Good Guys managed to get it down to $515. Got sent a link via SMS to do the payment, paid and went down to collect.
Before hand contacted Appliances Online via chat to see if they could do better but the best they would do was the $521, the price beat link from the Good Guys and they wanted to add the $59 delivery fee which didn't work for me as I could picked up the machine from the Good Guys near me.
Got it from Oxley, QLD if anyone want to know.

  • +1

Use WELCOME20 offer if ordering from Bing Lee for the first time and get $20 off. Brings down to $511 with free delivery & install.

    • How did you get free delivery? Coming up as $59 on mobile browser.

      • +1

It might be suburb dependent. Maybe try a few inner CBD post codes and it might give free delivery?

  • Price matched for JB to consume the gift cards. Ripper deal @ 521

    • Btw, while in store price matching, the guy said jokingly - " We are price beating our own baby" aka TGG is owned by JB.

  • Any suggestions on extra care. The machine has only 2 yr warranty. I guess most of the trouble on washers start beyond that time.

  • Thanks OP, cracking deal. Grabbed the 10kg

  • Thanks OP, great deal. Sadly there goes my treadmill plan :(.

  • How come this is marked as expired?

    • Cause if you click on any of those links… The price has gone up.

I'm just waiting for EOFY sales at the moment.

  • Trying to fill visa gift card form. Does anyone know which one is Product Code/SKU code? I can't seem to find it. Form says it's a 5 digit number but I dont see it.

  • Anyone claimed the gift card yet? Been waiting for couple weeks with no reply.

    • All I got so far was the confirmation of registration when I completed their form. Going to email them this week I think.

      • Mine is coming today. Where exactly is product/sku code if I ma ask pls… If it's on box then I better take photo

        • +1

I used the serial number on the plastic wrapper, but it should also be on the back of the machine.

  • If anyone purchased the 'Haier 10kg Front Load Washer HWF10ANB1', can you please let me know what the Product Code/SKU is?

Unfortunately forgot to take a look behind the machine before I pressed it hard up against the wall.

    • I took photo before installation. there is no Product/SKU code as per the form being 5 digit etc…I can see Serial number though. I can't find any Product Code/SKU

      • Update. Opened the front door and all details are there.

  • @tellhimhesdreaming

Also got the haier with the e-gift card cash back. How long did your egift card take to arrive after registering on their website?

    • I lodged mine 22 May, have not received card.

      • Lodged on 23rd May, still waiting.

        • I replied to the confirmation email and just received a useless response. 3 weeks with no review yet…

Thank you for your email. Our team is currently working their way through the promotional claims, and we appreciate your patience during this time. We understand how important this is to you and are doing our best to process all claims as quickly as possible.

We’ll be in touch with an update as soon as your claim has been reviewed. If you have any further questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out.

  • Can anyone link the page for the visa gift card redemption form?
I seem to be blind and cant find it..
    Cheers
