Does YOUI still ask a million questions?

    • -2

Just the usual questions like any other insurers.

      • +6

other insurers never asked me to call to get quotation

        • I wasn't asked to call them and I was able to get the most competitive quote.

  • +5

Has Youi started putting their quotes available online yet or do you have to give them your details for a call-back still?

    • -1

      quotes are all done online

      • +3

For all insurance types? Couple of years ago I submitted for comprehensive and they wouldn't give me a price online and had to submit my details for a call. Tried it two years in a row and not bothered since

    • +5

I had to get a callback for home insurance
      Pass.

    • I had no probs to get a quote for the comprehensive car insurance online at the end of December last year.
Their quote was several hundred dollars cheaper than AAMI, NRMA and many others ($900 vs $1500). It was similar to Budget. But Budget requested that you send them the photos of your speedometer on a regular basis,

I recently signed up for some new policies and it wasn't possible to complete the transactions without speaking with them… I tried to explain that i needed to make an online transaction and could they send me the finalised quote but they couldn't do it… I guess thats why they offer such good rewards

    • -1

Oh I was able to get car comprehensive insurance online without speaking to anyone.

  • +8

Just tried it. Had to speak to them

  • +3

No online quotes, you have to speak to someone!!!!!

  • +3

Really, cheaper? do you drive like 30 km a year..? i did quote other day and it was like $3500 to insure a $12000 car .. hard passsss … bingle and Ammi was like 1K

    Avoid youi.
Reputation wise, they’re amongst the top ‘worst of the worst’.

      • Product review .com hardly reflect real world experiences.

The comments from folks in this and past youi posts is enough to prove both statements,
        and warning.

Edit: Op if i you’ve signed up with this mob and within cooling period: cancel your account, just a fair warning from a fellow ozber.

Don't waste time going through the whole process. Price is not competitive. You can find better company to deal with.

    • Better in terms of price? Any examples? Ta

To get around providing phone number you can copy and open the URL on another device, it'll ask for birth date to retrieve quote and then go through the final questions.
    Super expensive for me.

  • Yeah na.

I was just recently looking for car insurance on my used car I just purchased. Youi was one of the most expensive quotes I got.

You always see their ads saying how "such and such saved this much by switching to Youi", but I noticed in some of the testimonials the only reason people saved money was because they had to forgo something in their cover. Like "Tom saved $600 by not ever driving his car".

  • RACQ worked out cheaper for me by more than this

edit: home and contents that is-assessed yesterday

it's all good, till you have to make a claim….going through a claim with YOUI process is painful, you get shoved around from team to team, and every step is minimum 2 weeks to get an answer of some kind….I was told after 6 weeks post a crash assessment…that parts had'nt been ordered as yet because someone dropped the ball…3 months later…car is still waiting to be fixed….things just seem to fall through the cracks with YOUI once you make a claim
