New to Credit Cards – Looking for Good Offers and Buying Tips

Hi everyone,
I'm new to using credit cards and would really appreciate some guidance.

1) Are there any good credit card offers or deals available currently (such as rewards, cashback, or welcome bonuses)?

2) What key things should I consider before choosing or applying for a credit card (e.g., fees, interest rates, rewards, credit score requirements)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Depends what you wanna try get out of it. I mainly churn to get frequent flyer points for travel. https://www.pointhacks.com.au/ is a good resource for that.

Otherwise you can check out https://www.rwrds.com.au/gift-cards for gift cards to save money on groceries when you accumulate points.

Best point to dollar 'value' is typically with business class flights using your points.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN8DA6LkDCo good video to watch although it's more about the value of frequent flyer points.

You could start by using the credit card tag.

  • The points and rewards on credit cards are generally not worth it unless you spend a lot on them or churn to get FF points. Keep in mind most FF points cards now come with high Annual Fees ($400ish). They are designed for the banks to profit off, not make it easy for you to get points.

If you haven't had a credit card before go with a $0 annual fee and low rate, 55 days interest free and a relatively low limit. Its really easy to end up in a lot of credit card debt that will take a lot of time and interest to pay off.

  • Those questions are very broad and there is no right/wrong answer. It all depends on your circumstances. Have a read on websites like www.pointhacks.com.au to give you general idea and you can decide for yourself
