that is not the 'edge' model

      • +2

Damn my bad, these names are confusing as hell :(

        • +4

I don't blame you, it is so confusing. They just keep adding a new word in every model

          • @Taro Milk Tea: still tried my luck with JB chat, they refused to price match.

  • $1439.10 with the 10% off Perks code.

If you have Macquarie bank access, can buy 4% discounted GC from there and bring this down to around $1382.

I got this one for $1439 recently and think that's about right price for the features you get. Better battery life would be nice but it's not a big deal.

  • Maybe a dumb question, but can these upper tier models work in the dark using their lidar? Ideally i would buy one of these and run it at 3am or something.

    • +2

I believe all the top models have spotlights to see in the dark, both my S7 and S8 maxv did.

LiDAR works even in pitch black environments as it uses it's own light source (laser).

  • How is it different from normal edge model ?

    • Edge C has smaller battery, no camera, and lower climbing capacity.

      • The suction power is the same?

        • +1

          according to specs , yes

  • Can these do one downstairs area then take it upstairs and it knows it’s upstairs and continues? Or can they only do one continuous area because of the need to return home?

    • They should have multi floor mode or something along those lines. Else, they'll just remap every time.

    • My FIL has the "base" Qrevo which I helped set up.
You can leave the base downstairs and then take the robot upstairs to do its thing.
There is a small bit of setup at the start to make sure it knows there are two distinct areas, but it's pretty easy to configure.
Once it has gone around once and mapped everything (and then you make any adjustments you want with room locations, no-go zones, Level names etc etc), it will recognise where it is wherever you put it - assuming you don't have identical looking spaces and furniture layout I suppose.

If both Levels are quite large, you may want to consider moving the whole base unit as well so that the robot can go back and empty itself and/or wash the mops and possibly even recharge. But if one Level is smaller, then you could just drop the robot in there, let it finish and then manually take it back to the base.

  • I got this just on mother’s day with the “HER” discounted gift card of TCN, available on reddy express service stations, but actually it was really hard to find 32 gift cards, because they avoid selling more than 5 to each individual.
It was my first time using discounted gift card and i think it was the last as well, it wasn’t worth the %10 discount($160)

  • No camera

    • what is the camera for?

      • Pet detection, avoidance etc

        • I thought this one also has scanner to avoid distractions

  • Thanks, besides the 10% code, I also used some discounted gift cards to down the cost below $1400

  • Have the 'S' model of this and in first month our internet monthly limit was reached (1tb). Granted we do watch 4k videos and did download some large files off internet that month, but we never managed to cross this limit in past. Had to limit this vac from accessing internet through router. No such limit reached notifications since then.

    • why does your internet have 'limit'? are you using 5g?
